Guess I'll jump on the bandwagon too! I figure keeping a record of what I'm doing will help keep me on track and curb my gamer/hobby ADD. I don't have a whole lot to start off with, so I'll keep it simple for now: I really envy those that can keep an uncluttered work environment. Attachment: A whole mess o' skimmers. I was thinking of flocking the bases, so I took the models off the stands. By the way, they're magnetized so I don't have to glue them to the flight stands (and reglue them when they break off, like all my BFG stuff.) Attachment: Imperial Armor, anyone? More Forge World than a mortal man could possibly comprehend. In fact, I have more Forge World Epic stuff than Forge World does (and, at this juncture, I'm probably right!) Attachment:

"Uhhh, Lieutenant? I don't think the local PDF will be as much a threat as we originally thought. They're so... tiny..." Attachment: Trying to decide on Blood Angels or Imperial Fists. I was leaning towards the Fists, due to the fact that the yellow really pops, but I'm also liking the way the red came out. Decisions, decisions... Attachment: Well, that's about it for now. Hopefully I'll get some more done before the game this weekend. |

The Guard is looking better and better man. What did you hit them with, a Camo green drybrush? |

ulric wrote: Everything is nicely done or even better ![]() You want to get rid of Forgeworld stuff? Thanks - I still have a long way to go though. I still need to do final highlights and all the detail work. It's just daunting to do all of it at once, so it is taking me a while. I need to break it up into smaller chunks. And, no, I'll be keeping the FW. Thanks though ![]() Apocolocyntosis wrote: That is indeed an envy inducing amount of FW. Also, imperial fists ![]() Yeah, I bought it all when the exchange rate was somewhat decent. I like the GW sculpts - I think they have character. Bedrolls, packs, tarps, etc, but, man, the cost is out of control. Even with a 1:1.35 exchange rate, I got my chimeras for 50% of what GW was charging. You can't beat that, you know? One vote for Imperial Fists! I don't know... I like them both. I was just doing the Blood Angels as a test, thinking I wasn't going to like it, but it is growing on me. One of the guys in the group might be doing Fists though, and I don't want for both of us to do the same army. I'm going to talk to him and see what he's got going on. Dave wrote: The Guard is looking better and better man. What did you hit them with, a Camo green drybrush? Thanks - maybe the paint gods will talk to the gaming gods and let me win for once this weekend! As for the paint, no, it's all Vallejo, and went this way: Brown Violet base, heavy wash with Badab Black, drybrush Brown Violet, drybrush Russian Uniform Green. There will be a final light edging done with a mix of Russian Uniform and Yellow Ochre. After that, I need to work on details like weapons and unit markings. I wanted to go to more of a WW2 scheme, so I found a Flames of War US Tank tutorial to use as my guide. I think the techniques are more suited for a larger scale model, but I think my models will look alright in the end. I can tell you that I will not want to paint OD Green again for a long, long time. Hence the brightly colored Marines coming next. |

That's the technique I've been using, and yeah, once I'm done with my THawks and what not it will be a long time before I got back to Bogey Green ![]() We'll have to see how this Saturday pans out for you. |

It's been a while, but I've got some more pics. These are from gaming a couple of weeks ago. I managed to take down Dave's Transporter and about a third of his points in a lucky Hydra shot. I still lost, but I had a good time. Here's a photo of the Guard' pre-battle deployment, versus Dave's Marines. Attachment: A tank company and a Warhound, trying to take out a Scout formation. Guess what - I failed, miserably. Attachment: My tank company desparately fleeing some Assault Marines from my second game. Attachment:

And some things I've been working on this weekend. Guard. Lots and lots of Guard. And I still have to finish them - I've only got a basecoat and a wash done. Soooo many little men... Attachment: Some ruins I've been making up. Again, I just have a basecoat done, but they shouldn't need more than a wash and highlights. Attachment: And there are a few surprises in the ruins as well... Can you find one? It's a little hard to see, but once the paint job is complete, I think it will stand out quite nicely. Attachment:

Dave wrote: Warhound down! Will we be seeing the ruins at NEAT? We will indeed. Unfortunately, I've only got 10 stands so far, and they're only 6x6 inches. Not nearly enough to fill a table. I'm sure we'll make do though ![]() |

Some photos of NEAT III (Northeast Epic Armageddon Tournament) from last Saturday: Stormtroopers deploy from their Valkyrie transports and take a building. An infantry platoon attempts to eliminate the enemy threat and capture a small cluster of buildings. The might of the Imperial Guard advances to liberate the city from the clutches of the xenos invaders. Stormtroopers take the objective. The tanks come under heavy fire from the foul Eldar weapons. Karl's Eldar advance toward the tank company. The infantry platoon pours all its fire into the Eldar Avatar, sending it screaming back into the Webway. Karl's Avatar There are a few more photos on my blog (address in my sig.) |
