Post subject: | Advice on painting flat panels |
Hi all This is a little off topic, but I thought this was the best part of the forum to post this in. Hope you all don't mind too much! I've been playing the new Zelda for DS (Spirit Tracks) a lot recently, and I've decided to make a model of one of the trains you can drive around in the game.  Its' got a lot of black and metal, and whilst the game has a definite cartoony vibe I don't want it too look too cell-shaded. Have any of you folks got any advice for making panels of black/dark grey not too overwhelming? Wet blending lighter colours towards the edges maybe? Or using roughcoat to get a slight texture? I've attached a picture (sorry, the best one I could get was screen-capped from youtube) to give you an idea of what it is. Thanks all, hope someone has some tips! Cheers Moronguhl |
