Hooray! I have the models for 2k of Seigemasters painted!

Without further ado, a 2,000pt force composed of elements of the Baran 2nd Infantry Regiment, 21st Tank Regiment, and 47th Artillery Regiment.

21st Tank Regiment, 3 Light Tank Coy., A Plt.

47th Artillery Regiment, 7th Anti Aircraft Coy., A Battery.

Actually, I still have a dozen Bruennhildes to paint, but I never use them, so they don't count. Next I have 5 more Trenches, 10 Razorwire, 12 Bunkers and 12 Gun Emplacements to paint for a complete 2k force.

Much progress. as well as finishing the airbrushing of 7 Companies of SL,

I've almost finished painting two of them entirely.

1st Artillery Company, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd 'O' Batteries.

I cannot say enough about the Armas. Amazing sculpts, minimal cleaning, and it looks like you could actually fit two men abreast inside. The main cannon fit is slightly loose, and requires pinning, but this does not detract from an astounding model.

I will be using the Armas as a 'counts as' battery of Basilisks.  :)

3rd Tank Company with Tank 101 as a comparison. The 3rd Coy. needs minor detailing to be complete.

Detail shot of a Leman Russ from 3rd Coy.
I did add a thinned down (3:1) coat of Badab Black to my airbrushing, as WMN suggested, and it doe add to the models significantly. Thanks, WMN!

Still on my to do list:
2 Coy. of 'Ragnaruss' (Leman Russ)

1 Coy. of Shadowswords
1 Coy. of Baneblades
1 Coy. of Infantry
10 'counts as' Chimaeras (GHQ BMP-2)

About 90 pieces of Seigemaster entrenchments
2k of Seigemasters.

In the process of restocking my Plasticard today, I happened apon the Italeri 1:72 Pz IV Ausf E fast build kit.

I've been looking for a base for Ordinatii, and thought these might be suitable for Majoris. The hulls are about 85mm long, a bit (OK, a lot) larger than the DC4 would imply, but look like they might work to mount some JL or E&C Weapons in the turret. Alternatively, I could take the hull only, as it has a nice sillohuete (sp?) and scratchbuild a Ferdinand/Elefant-style superstructure. The surface detail that betrays scale (cables, hatches, tools) has been removed from one, and resurfaced with .010" card. No pics yet.

Thoughts?

I've started an Ork army as well. Decided to go without any Vehicles at all, to contrast with my other, heavily mechanized armies.

The next warband (in Deffskull colors) is about half finished at this point.

No comments on the proposed repaint? Oh well.

Got 2 companies worth of Gun Emplacements finished. In addition to giving my Baran Arty. (no save LVs) a 4+ cover save, they also make it look dead 'ard.

Just the gun emplacements.

The wrong view...

They're being painted up for the Chicago Specialist Games Club's Epic event on 5 June. If you're in town that day, stop by the Chicago Bunker. Or go to http://www.adeptuswindycity.com/forums/ ... php?t=5078 for an event overview.

They're .080"x.250" Evergreen for the walls, and .020"x.250" strip for the buttresses, on a 50mm x 50mm base. IIRC, the segments are each 15mm long, scored and bent. The wall is all one piece of card, which helps in the construction immensely. Other fortifications include:

Another Siege Infantry Company finished.

Baran 2nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd [Tan] Company

3rd Company Command Squad. I think the technical pen worked out well. I may decide to repaint the other two command flags in a similar manner. Have to decide later.

That brings my painted total to 2100pt. That does not include any fortifications. The goal, including 400pt of fortificatins, is 3925pt.

Siegemasters left to paint: 1 Siege Infantry Company, 1 Heavy and 1 Light Tank Platoon, 1 Siege Artillery Company, and 1 Siege Anti-Air Battery, plus fortifications. Bonuses of 300pt include 1 Siege Artillery Battery and 1 Light Tank Platoon.

@ All - The rate my stuff has been painted at has skyrocketed since my rate of pay went to zero...

Completed yesterday:

Image

Image
47th Siege Artillery Regiment, 2nd Siege Artillery Company and 7/B Seige Anti-Air Battery.

One Gotterdammerung from 2 Coy. was not primed, and so was not painted. It will probably be done along with 21/1/B Light Tank Platoon, which also needs primer.

A preview of another project before the Siegemasters are done, and the reason the name "Bruennhilde" makes me cower in fear.
Image
Again, there is one unprimed still.

I'm making progress, even if I'm trying to avoid the Fortifications right now. Eventually the army will be done, and I'll need to tackle the fortifications I have remaining. It's getting close, only three formations left to do...
