Well Youtube's search function works :agree: and there are many videos on miniature painting.

As for good vids....well its all web 2.0 user generated garbage so good luck, the hot lead vids are good but not very in depth as they want you to buy thier dvd :p Jawaballs' vids are also good (eg actually in focus).

Cant say id bother with youtube, CMON has plenty of painting guides, and brushthralls is generally excellent.

Or, for the more specialised area of painting epic you ask about, why not read some of the excellent painting blogs on here? Far more specific to your needs...I can recommend Warmaster Nice, Vaishh, Myself, and Many Others! People always end up asking questions of posting how to's (in fact my blog usually has a step by step for most armies i've done) so plenty of information out there.
Hope that helps,

What do people feel about a painting tutorial section for the site, where members could put up guides, articles and videos for downloads?

I've looked at a lot of the painting blogs on here, but there's not much really for a painting novice or dummy like me. Not mant tips for drybrushing and the like.

Have you read the basic epic painting/hobby guide on pages 154-157 of the epic rule book?

Tutorial section sounds good, why limit it to just painting though? surely terrain and converting etc can be included.

I think one of the many problems of "how-to:s" is that even a simple technique like drybrushing can be varied ad infinitum depending on what effect you are trying to achieve. The amount of paint on the brush, the consistency of the paint etc. I think the easiest way to get help is to post a thread where you tell exactly what you are trying to achieve, what models you are painting, what colours you would like to use etc. I find that most people are more than willing to help a fellow out and post pictures of their own models etc.

I know someone asked me for a tutorial on my paint-log, and I am in the progress of doing one. My problem is more a question of time than a question of motivation. Doing a tutorial while taking pictures is rather time-consuming.

a tutorial section would be great. i'd especially be interested if it had a terrain section.
as to your question about drybrushing. it would be nice to have some sort of help on some of the easier techniques. as someone with average painting skills, once i learned drybrushing and some other things i was able to make rather nice looking stuff. so i see where your coming from
