This may have been already accomplished, or may be impossible due to technical reasons (and may seem a bit cheeky coming from the 'new guy') _BUT_ Might it be possible to Pin a list of the small scale sculptors, similair to the existing 'Re: Available 6mm ranges' ...? I am aware that several folks have made some offbeat Original and Unique wierd science/fiction/fantasy 6mm units And: I suspect that there are folks who would be willing to trade for such... How to find them, though? There area -lot- of old posts to sift through! I think it would be worthwhile to post a list of sculptors who have done so- maybe with linkages to show off their talent.... Whaddya think?  Do-able, or verboten? |

You've not mentioned Evil and Chaos there - you might be interested to check out this and this thread if you haven't already. |

They are actually scratchbuilding for themselves. So doing a list might give the wrong impression. |

Speaking hypothetically, if people were making models that were similar to the designs of another company, they wouldn't be able to advertise in public for fear of being shut down. |

What has already been said. The copying of IP is illegal. Period. Of course there's a lot of grey areas, like how close should a model resemble something with IP before it beomes infringement if you decide to produce some copies for personal use. Same goes for proxies: A model may make an excellent proxy for an army, but it could never be advertized as such. It is against forum policy (and illegal in the real world too) to produce copies of registered IP and especially to sell these copies. This means that any pinned list that would in any way seem to encourage such behaviour might get both the sculptors and CyberShadow into trouble. Of course there's nothing we mods can do to stop people from contacting each other through personal mail outside these boards, and it also is nice to see the creativity and talent displayed here. Thus it is a matter of striking a balance. However to openly sell copies of your work, or even to suggest it, is highly problematic, and thus can't be allowed on the boards. (And of course we're pretty sure that no such activities are going on ![]() And just to be clear: It is of course completely legal (and should be encouraged) to come up woth your own IP free designs, cast and even sell those. Anything that looks like, bears the same name, or in any other way infringes copyright is not. Use common sense and a bit of self moderation when you comment on people who has produced a particularly nice or usefull model. That way noone gets into trouble and we can all live happily ever after ![]() Right. MOD-hat off. I hope that explains the situation from an official standpoint. |

From what I gather (and this is just what I've picked up from what people have said, so I may have got the wrong impression or their policies may have changed), GW's IP department don't particularly care if someone scratch-builds a figure based on their IP for themselves, or does a few for the odd friend, or even gives away a one-off as a prize at a tournament or something like that. Any kind of commercial reproduction of their IP, though, they take very seriously indeed. |
