I'm still quite pleased to be under commission with the esteemed Mssrs. Webb and Salling, but I might suffer burn-out and need a week or two of diversion. For now I'm prosecuting the Enforcer, its zillions of turrets, and the 6 gunned laser storm variant.

Am I looking at ZBrush? Hell yeah! http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=71266

Consider this a place for us to have pie-in-sky discussions about fun things to do. For example, I saw this neat out-of-print Forge World road piece with little pillboxes, tank traps, fuel drums, and ammo boxes. It would probably be straightforward for me to make a sprue of such things, but would it be worth a metal production mold?

Whatever it is, NO TREADS. I'm tired of those things.

mmh, ive got one of Scott Spencer's books on using Z-brush on the desk next to me and z-brush installed, i just havn't had time to make the connection, so for now all i can do is badly proportioned heads and create rainbow coloured rhinos ???

I look forward to seeing your creations  :)

I have the FW road sections. Would you like to borrow them for, um... "inspiration"?

I know this has come up before but some kind of lego-ish building system would be awsome. I liked your gothic windows but they were difficult to mass produce in resin in the quantities needed for an entire building. Slightly larger sections would be cool. They'd need to be stackable for tall buildings but still small enough to be versatile. Some Epic versions of some of the Cities of Death pieces would be nice as well. Again the size is an issue, but if you combined 4-6 pieces into a single Epic piece they might be feasible.

Alternatively: How about space ships? Definitely no treads on those :) Some variant prows, bridges, weapon systems etc. might make the BFG crowd happy.

I've wondered whether it would be possible to do something in Epic that matches the look of the 'Cities of Death' buildings for Warhammer 40,000.

You're very kind, but some of them are already inspiring me. You cool.

Edit - Hey, are the avatars bigger?

Lovely terrain pieces please! A modular city block system with roads and spaces for buildings would make me a very happy man. Should be pretty easy to produce too.

well i could use some road bits. and building bits are always wanted. hey! airplanes and spacecraft dont have treads. how about making some of the various fighters and bombers/torpedo craft from BFG in epic scale ? how do you feel about modeling wings? more fun than treads ?

Wings would be interesting.

Regarding architectural pieces, it's true that I haven't revisited my Frauenkirche Dresdener project in some time...

Didn't you plan to do a Stormbird at some point?

Oh yeah. BFG aircraft in Epic scale would be fun. It's been some time since I checked up on BFG lore but they're supposed to be fairly large compared to athmospheric aircraft right?

A less interesting (from your perspective), but very usefull nevertheless, would be architectural fittings such as pilastres, buttresses, etc. These could be mounted on spures for faster reproduction.

Cunningly the old FW roads are the same length and width as their Administratum building and their Librarium lengthways. The Tank factory is then twice that size each way. As a whole a city can fit together really well. I'm planning to base my ruined buildings on square bases the same size to fit too.

FW roads are pretty cool too - you might not realise till you look closely but the corner and crossroad ones have large ingrained imperial eagles carved in. Would look particularly effective picked out a different colour as I plan to with mine, like white on grey.

More scenery bits would be cool, whether it was a little sprue of detail bits or whole buildings.

The avatars do seem to be bigger too, perhaps the forum software was updated in the hiatus or something.

I would also find buildings very useful.

Well the board is sizing avatars to 100px x 100px, what did it used to be?

Apart from city terrain what about factory terrain? Speaking of Forgeworld (not the company, i'm speaking of the planets of the Adeptus Mechanicus) terrain?
Power plants, factories, forges, etc. Have you looked at the old Epic40k book with the terrain generation table?
