I'm starting to plan to create a mobile ork super structure and was thinking of using the tracks from the 40K Ork battlewagon (still to aquire). Now the question I'm wondering is... how do you make the 40K battlewagon track look more like epic scale that is required? Or will that not be an issue once I start putting other epic scale detail to it? Also how wide can I have a platform between the two tracks before it look impracticle? |

You do know that in epic scale the battlewagon tracks would be stupidly big right? Like taller then a warlord and about as long as 10 or so land raiders end to end. |

OK... as mentioned, I havent got hold of any 40K battlewagon tracks yet. So not even seen them before. But yes, this super structure is still currently a vision, so still a few kinks in the works. I originally wanted to build an ork fortress, but that's a bit boring and "Oomie". So I decided to try a mobile super structure. Hence the starting point should always be the tracks and build upwards. Ideas so far... 1) Two Tank tracks on one side. The area between this will have multiple layers were orks can fire from, or even lung bustas parked with their cannons pointing outwards. Think of cannons out of pirate ships. 2) Gargant repair Bay - This will be at the rear with loads of cranes. 3) Shooting Towers. Bit like the squig catapult, but with loads more space for Orks. 4) Bug Booma, like the Moon Crater thing in one of the WD issue. Also other things such as a launch bay for figtas. 5) Multiple Part, If you ever read Palladium Book's World Book 5 Triax and seen the super tank, then you'd know what i mean. But simply put, several large tanks can detatch from the main tank. 6) Multiple Gargants on the front pulling the structure with large chains... still toying with this idea. Think Horse and Chariot. |

In "Double Eagle" the chaos boys had a tracked airbase that was creeping towards imperial targets and launching fighters and bombers. Have to find a description. But Battlewagon tracks would be too big I think. rather many smaller tracks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_mobil ... ft_carrier |

How about you try to get hold of a few mega-gargants and use the treads from those? They aren't too rare, and I'm fairly certain you could get 2 for the price of a single battlewagon. |

Got a few Mega Gargants about, but the tracks on them are way too small in my opnion. They're the same height as an epic ork!! |
