Yes, I think mixing some DRM Jungle Fighters with the Cats works fine ! I'll be adding some Cats to my DRM stands too !  The detail on these Boys is remarkable. And I use alot of G/W Washes & Inks on my Grunts ! :))  Now a bit of a reality check. As "cool" as they look ... Take it from me who was deployed to Central American jungles 3 times in the early '80s ...  You would usually never go into the deep bush without sleeves or gloves ...  There is too much flora & fauna that can hurt you ! :_(  We would go in with helmets. But sometimes put'm in our rucks once in the deep, dark jungle.  And put on head scarves, like these Boys.  We called them "Drive On Rags" ... :)  And we also wore boonie hats and/or patrol caps ...  :D   Just like in the movies ...

Well mr H, I try to convolute the issue, with some confused mud. Including a photo of myself masquerading as my avatar.

And now I find myself lacking Catachans! Darn you Ralph... I got heaps of Jungle Fighters and 'chopters for them. But just a handful Catachans.

Awsome stuff. I hope my own turn out as good when I get around to painting them up. The fleshy bits  always made them a bit daunting to me compared to regular guardsmen. Hopefully some experiments with the new washes will end my reservations.

Very nice L4! Massed amount of flesh isn't easy to do and you've pulled it off very nicely

Many Thanks Troopers !  I figured Rambo Babie's Dad would like these best ! :vD  Yes, I base coated the fleshy parts suitable tones of flesh.  Tans, Muave, Pink, etc. Not everyone has the same color of skin. Then applied a few Tatoos here and there. Easy to do with a dot, line, etc. Then washed the flesh with different shades of brown washes & inks.  I'm also starting to experiment with Wonder Washes. I heard about those from Chap Lev here.  No doubt even green washes & ink will work on Orks too ! :alien:

Yeah. I was thinking about trying the green citadel ink on some of my old orks (painted something like 15 years ago) to bring out the detail on the faces better. ...Then again I got so may other projects that I ought to do as well :p

My own planned catachan army would definitely go for the Vietnam feel. I already got some converted drop sentinels painted up, and plenty of valkyrie and vulture airborne support (with surfboards maybe...). I want to use the EW Guild Amphibious APC once we get around to doing that as a Chimera proxy. I also had a plan to use GHQ LCACs as some kind of home brew support/dropship-ish unit, although they're a bit expensive. The army would be heavily centered around mobility but with minimal AV support (maybe a few EW IFVs mixed in as Conqueror proxies). I've used EW Khazari mortars mixed in with some of the infantry stands, and most of my Ogryns will be assigned to this army as well as I feel they look a bit like oversized abhuman Catachans. It'll be a fun army to paint, but like I said the complex paintig of the infantry has put me off from actually working on it untill now. Oh well. Perhaps once I get the Dark Angels from the ToEG challenge painted up :)

Yes, the Cats have a real "jungle" feel. The E/W Amphtrack should work well too !  I look forward to those !   And I'll have Ogryn with all my IG units too ! :)

Yep, a compnay of Cats is compulsory in any big IG force IMHO!
Mine have Tunneller transport avilable for an alternative method of deployment.
