Hi

What are people using to represent Tallarn figures in EA? I want to avoid using the plastic greatcoat infantry as possible as have used these for Valhallan army.

What would yiu use for:

1) Tallarn Infantry
I have seen suggestions to use DRM Industrial infantry. But these dont appear to have any heavy weapons. Also seen people talk about using E/W Guild Bounty Hunters.

2) Tallarn Rough Riders
I have seen people suggest using E/W Guild Mounted Bounty Hunters. Were these more suitable for use as Eldar Exodites.

3) Tallarn sentinels
Although not an exact proxy i was thinking of using counts as rule to use EW Khazari Desert Patrol. Very much a WW2 SAS Long Rand Desert Patrol look.

Can anyone suggest better alternatives? Please can you forward some large pictures of the suggested piece. I really want something that has the flowing robes that I think of for desert raiders.

Cheers

James

Tank wise I recomend using ragnarock hulls with leman russ turrets. Get an excellent WWII british desert tank look.

Oh, have to send an application, more later.

Chris

I am ok for tanks- have 2 Leman Russ companies, 3 SHT companies basilisk company, and some Manticores.

It was specifically the infantry, cavalry & sentinels I was looking at to finish off the force. I have some plastic greatcoat infantry but they don't really fit in my mind as desert raiders.

Cheers

James

Since I picked up a pack of EW mounted bounty hunters I've been tempted by a tallarn force - snip the tails and they make excellent mukali riders:

For basic tallarn infantry you don't need to look past DRM's brilliant scout infantry:

Make sure you add sniper squads to your infantry, they're definitively tallarn!

Hi

EW mounted bounty hunters look cool but also look very Eldar-ish. Any idea how to make them more Tallarn like?

DRM Pax Arcadia Scouts also look cool. With brown colours would look desert raider like. Only problem is the lack of heavy weapons.

Cheers

James

It's only really the heads on the bounty hunters that are eldarish. Remove the spike and paint it turbanish and it'd look fine.

Mix some other heavy weapons models in with the scouts, painted in the same colour scheme.

Just use the Valhallan heavy weapons from the E40K IG sprue and paint them as Tallarn.  The great coat is just as easily painted sand and the fur hat becomes a turban.  Poor photo but:

Thanks Zap and TRC

You have both given me something to ponder.

Cheers

Well I'd think any 6mm Arab Infantry with Khaffieh would work ...  I think someone was talking about this on TMP ...  I'll check ... :)   TRC already posted there ! :oo:

Got this reply on TMP

I have the irregular arabs and the british and french as well for LofA. They are unpainted, I never got around to finishing them up. I was looking to post them to ebay, but if you are interested I can send a few pics of them. Let me know at jonyuengling at gmail.com.
