Here's the current state of the spudd and pestle guns. The carriage is still somewhat ugly, and will be posted later. |

Looks like a good start ; what's the plan for casting the Thudd Gun? |

Quote: (Evil and Chaos @ 16 May 2009, 20:47 ) Looks like a good start ; what's the plan for casting the Thudd Gun? Single piece casting with carriage, mold plane parallel with the 'ground'. That's conjecture for now. I'll know more when I have made progress with the carriage itself. |

This thing is also trouble. Here's the 4:1 version (next to the 4:1 tankette). I'm thinking that I'll just have to 'fill in' all of the gaps to get this thing to be a single piece cast. It won't be super-sexy, but hey, this thing is just a small field gun, right? The other decision is to scale it to 4.67:1 or leave it in scale with the tankette (but not in true 6:28 scale). ![]() |

I say leave it in scale with the Tankette, unless you're thinking of using a smaller scale that's closer to FW's scale (then go for that). I say fill the centre. |

Otterman your stuff always looks good, even if you don't think. So I say do what you have to do to make it producable and you know I would want a bunch. Its looks great next to the "tankette" ![]() |

Agreed, leave it in scale with the tankette. |

Looks great ![]() If it towers over-big next to it's crew, that will be a far bigger downer than if the vehicle towing it is a little larger in comparison - the latter seems no big deal to me. |

Looks great. I`m too for scaling it properly (= not in scale with the tankette). |

One more argument: The Saltshaker uses the same wheels. It would look odd if the spud and pestleguns had bigger wheels. |

I don't know what it is about towed artillery, but designing it has broken my spirit. I need a week to marshal. |
