Inspired by all the Tyranid work going on, I thought I should share my progress with Raveners. I saw the Gargoyle/Hormagaunt conversion, but I do not have that many of them to spare, so I thought I should use something I do have spares for as a start: Tyranid Warriors (Epic) and Rippers (40K).


I used the bottom part of the Ripper tail and the upper part of the Tyranid Warrior (minus some legs and tail stump and ended up something like this:


I trimmed off about three Ripper carapace segments and shaved them slimmer:


I used the biggest two Ripper claws as the biggest Ravener claws and used some old banner poles for arm segments:


I used metal flash pieces for the other claws... and voila:

Then I used some brown stuff for filling and adding a head plate.






Remember the death spitters?


To use instead of arms to symbolize the FF value (I think 3 out of 8 will suffice).

Excellent conversions. :cool:

To make it even easier, consider buying the FW rippers who have seperate arms. The heads come in more variant sizes too which make them usefull for various conversions.
