Greetings, fellow taccommers! Inspired by all the great stuff in this forum, I thought it fitting to show my progress in Epic army painting. Due to a recent decision, our gaming group has put different people in charge of different war games. The idea is that there are too many war games for each and every one collecting everything. I picked up Epic A. I have an old collection of Epic miniatures, have re-stocked some of the new ones from GW and regularly check Ebay for interesting auctions. So far, I have quite a lot of Imperial Guards, Space Marines, Orks, Tyranids and Squats. I have started painting up a Steel Legion and a Tyranid army, alternating between the two. So, this is where the armies stand for now... Steel Legion ![]() Tyranids ![]() I am currently painting some stealers and lictors for the Tyranids and an Infantry Company for the Steel Legion. I will post close-ups later, as well as WIPs, but I thought I'd just post this for now. Thank you for watching, /Fredmans |

Lovely colours on the guard. What paints did you use? D. |

Thanks. For the vehicles, I start with Adeptus Battlegrey (GW Foundation), but any dark grey will do, followed by a thinned-out wash of black ink. Then I drybrush with a gray colour (Vallejo Cold Grey) and then a final light drybrush with light gray (Vallejo Stone Wall Grey). For the camo stripes, I base with a mix of Adeptus Battlegrey and Vallejo Dead Flesh, paint with a mix of Cold Grey/Dead Flesh and then pure Dead Flesh for the final highlight. Example of Manticores ![]() The guardsmen are painted in Vallejo Filthy Brown, given a thinned-out wash of Brown Ink and then highlighted with Vallejo Sun Yellow. Damn, it is hard to take close-ups of Epic infantry. ![]() /Fredmans |

very nice stuff you have there, I'm quite partial to those lictors and I may steal the missile colors on the manticores. |

Beautiful work fredmans! ![]() Love the colour schemes and the detail is superb. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your amazing armies. Maybe some in-game pics would be very cool. Cheers, Steve. |

Top-notch stuff man! The bases on the Guard Infantry and the Lictor models themselves are very nice! Now let me get this straight. One guy in your group collects, and paints all the armies for that system?! |
