Here are some photo's of my entire Tyranid Swarm.

I've only managed to paint about a third of it but hopefully I'll get the rest done at some point. (Just recently managed to finnish gluing this lot together.)

If anyone wants to add their own Swarms, please feel free...  :)

They're not the best pictures but they do give a notion of the size.

My one ambition for this swarm would be to (once painted) use it in a massive city fight campaign. I'll need a bigger table though... and house...

That's a huge army! I hope it devourers a great many others in its conquest of the galaxy. This is great inspiration to keep on painting mine.

What's the count of everything?

That's a lot of plastic. Are those purchased straight from GW or from ebay? Must have cost a lot if you got them from ebay.

Bit late now but I'm intreged by Neals idea of basing them in follow the leader style on strip bases.

Hi guys, thanks for the interest,

Most were bought from GW back in the day and through out 'Epic40K-gate.' then when that disappeared I turned to eBay when I discovered NetEpic and have used my imagination to fill in for some of the other stuff not in Epic army lists. (I,e. if it's an interesting model I'd use it.)
You probably can't notice from the poor photo but there is a newish plastic Carnifex in the middle back I use for the Tyranid's Answer to Imperator Titans... the Hiro-Kraken! (All armour, teeth and claws and no guns.)

This lot comes to about just over 36,000pnts in old Epic. I have a list if you like but have made various changes to the legal list you may not - hey I live in Scotland, I'm isolated and can do what I want... :p  :D

Bit late now but I'm intreged by Neals idea of basing them in follow the leader style on strip bases.

The layout in the photo is just to make them easier to see. I prefer the square bases and I have managed to re-base some of the infantry but still have some way to go.

I have some bits and pieces that I want to use for Devourers but has anyone managed to make any? I have some ideas but any kind of reference or ideas would be tops...

As to money and cost. (You should see me other stuff!..) Like a vulcher picking over a carcass I got 'A LOT' of stuff cheap when they discontinued Epic and later Epic40K at the local GW store... I played them in a campaign at first and the campaigns just keep get bigger and bigger.

Oh and by the way, I'm really enjoying the site!..

Cheers, Jim... (AKA Warhead)

WOW!

Withsuch a huge horde it would be tempting to set casualties in battle aside and only use "fresh" troops for the next battle.
Wonder how long it will take to grind down the whole swarm :D

Ack!..  :glare:

I'm sorry but in the interests of Health and Safety no such demonstration may be given at this time... but if sir would care to inspect the wood chipper from the inside I'm sure this could be arranged... *Pal! :glare:

(*Pal - A Scottish word for 'friend' but often used when violence is immanent.)
