I'm looking at buying more Super Heavy Tanks for my IG army. But i'm torn between ordering from Forgeworld or GW. Does anybody, have a comparison picture with a FW and GW Baneblade sitting beside each other? I'm interested in the size comparison of the models.

Forgeworld's are bigger, more highly detailed and cheaper.

It's a bit of a no brainer really.

Hi!

I have long since migrated to FW for epic super heavies. They look more "massive", are lighter due to the resin and easier to store and transport.

The price point is better as well.

FW is a better choice.

Same answer. Bigger, nicer and cheaper. I do like gw V1 superheavy (the shadowsword with the round top), but I'm not a big fan of the actual range, and when you see the price...

Yes, G/W Russes are bigger that F/W ... But F/W SHTs are Bigger than G/W's ... The Same goes for aircraft ...   I use both in my IG Rgts ... but usually try to keep F/W with F/W and G/W with G/W.  But if you look at, say for example, the France '40 campaign.  The size of AFVs varied greatly, so it's no a problem for ... except with my VISA ... :D

One nte in favour of the SG tanks though is the more durable las cannon sponsons. Although FW detail is simy phenomenal the true scale lascannon barrels are extremely brittle and often come broken from the factory. Keping them in one piece after heavy battlefield use is quite a challenge :p :D

That said I'd still take a FW SHT over the SG one any day :)

Forgeworld are larger (Better scale) cheaper, and more detailed, why is there any choice needed to make, anybody in their right mind would go FW!

*I have an epic tank army, all forgeworld bar the Leman Russ, so I might be a little bias.

Good pics "J" ! And it clearly shows the size differences. That's one reason I keep the F/W units and G/W units in separate BNs ...  I guess that some guys are really smaller then others on planets of the G/W universe !
