This is the Stormhammer, and pieces. I'm currently working to replace the track segments and armour.

Stormhammer, used the Stormblade track pieces.

Turret with Brass turned cannon.

New Sponson, and track bits.

OMFG! Why are the pieces clear? Where did the brass cannon come from?

Where did the brass cannon come from?

I'm guessing he machined it himself, he has access to some really impressive tech.

the barrel is cut from a thin brass rod on a lathe, worked very nicely, I was surprised as the machine tends to vibrate. The pieces are clear because they are cut from blocks of acrylic (perspex).

I'm a professional Modelmaker in London, so have access to laser cutters, CNC (Computer navigated cutter), a 3d printer if I really need it (Thats at my old Uni), lathe, circular saws, disc sanders and the like.

The Stormhammer has so far been created on band saw, disc sander and by hand. With the exception of the barrel on the turret which I turned on the lathe. I also cast some little turrets to make sponson-tops.

That looks awesome.  I wish I had access to some of those tools and the skills to use them.

As I keep telling E&C the skills are just practice, most of the tools you can get around with a scalpel and plasticard. Though I admit the lathe is very useful and they are all cool. :D

PS - Mark: I like the quote about Titan's. I agree wholeheartedly.

Thanks Mr JL :)
That's grand. I work on a laser with CNC too, but it's a monster of a 9KW CO2 laser used for material deposition, welding and cutting, and which is far too high-power for fine-detail stuff of this sort. Nice work. :)
