Thanks :)

Bruticus: I snapped some pics of some of the terrain. A couple of pieces are still unfinished and I also couldn't find a couple of Forge World buildings that are supposed to go on the city centrepiece.
Still I hope this is what you've been asking for :)

:o

That partenon inspired 2D action scene is just mindbogglingly clever in so many ways. This is something to strive for!

Amazing stuff. Is it a modular layout? Do all the bases fit together to form a whole board? I really like the deep rubble around the ruins, and I love the use of half buried plastic roofs, now I know what to do with mine. What are the base tiles made of? They look thin, don't they warp?

The tiles are 3mm MDF, so I've never experienced any significant issues with warping. They are the same dimensions as A4 paper - Mainly because I found them easy to store in old cardboard boxes for xerox paper I had lying around. But yes. they do fit together in a system There's some roads made from MDF cut to the right length to fit the tiles. Also river and canal sections have a set width to fit the system.

The relief is actually quite simple to do: just place the miniatures on some sand paper and shave away as much as possible without destroying the contours of the model. With a bit of creativity, it fairly straightforward to achieve a dynamic effect with a nice sense of depth.
I used the same technique on front of this scratch built CI.

I just learned that you get a 3 month free trial on the Rhino 3D software, so I figured I'd try and learn it. Here's a stab at a spaceship that I've been working on for the past couple of days (WIP). Stille learning the basics, so no fancy shapes or anything, but Rhino is very intuitive to work with, so I think there's been quite a bit of improvement in my technique, since I did the first shapes on this model.
