update!
i was having massive trouble with the washes, then i found out about "magik wash"!!

its made from an acrylic floor polish called KLear (in UK) diluted 1 part to 4 parts water and you mix that with inks or paint.
it fantastic stuff, the wash stays right in the nook and holes and dries without that nasty ring effect.
im doing a baneblade at work il post pics if i get it done tommorrow.

i bought the stuff from Sainsburys if your wondering.

The snow camo basilisk looks brilliant. Am curious to know what paints, colours and techniques you used to achieve it?

i used ork hide shade and astronomicon grey from the foundation paint set.
i started by painting the tank grey and shading with a wash of dark grey( i cant remember now lol) then paimt on the camo pattern and highlight the grey and green with careful drybrushing and bobs your uncle(or so they say)
metal work is painted boltgun and shaded with armourwash then silver highlights.

i hope that helps

How was the base made?

the bases are made from 1.5mm plasticard which i trimmed the edges to get the bevelled look, i did a bit of scraping with my knife to get it smooth and with a little ruined wall its quite pretty i think.

i tried to tie the scale and size of the bases to the troopers to give the army a theme and look if you will.

Well, BM, could you re-align your two pictures so they're one-after-the-other, instead of side-by-side?

I know it's not bevel related...
