After ulthw? got ready, I needed a new stuff to paint (not that everything else is finished, but it is always nice to have something new). I chose some titans, and I have planned to make them inquisitor themed, so it is another black army, again. ![]() I have already started to gather models for it and aim is for small 3000pts list. Here is first try, and it should represent a knight paladin. Model is based on second hand necron warrior, and I added some plasticard and small amount of GS and chainsword blade. I wanted those conversions to be as simpe as possible, because I want army ready quickly. ![]() Does it look too much necron? Here are pictures, inquisitorial knight paladin: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nice idea. I'm not too hot on the burning flame on his head but overall I like it. ot Necronish at all IMO. I haven't got any experience with the 40k Necron miniatures but if it is possible I think it might be a good idea to make it slightly less dynamically posed to give a better sense of size and weight. |

I like the idea too but I must admit that I think it looks very like a necron (albeit one with a chainsaw arm). In itself that's not such a bad thing (they are robot things after all) but as WMN says, it lacks a sense of weight. I actually thought it was going to be a 40K scale member of the inquisitor's retinue when I first saw it. |

Thanks for the replies. I'll try to make next one more cumbersome, maybe that will fix the problem. Instead of flame I first put huge mane, but somehow that didn't look enough =I=, and I made a safety bet with the flame. |

Are necron heads seperate from the body? Moving it further down below the shoulders may also make the model look a bit more bulky. |

The heads are separate. I like the idea, but would have removed the weapon muzzle to make it less Necrish. Necronic. Necrotic. Whatever! A good way would be to change the look is to attach the weapon directly to the shoulder, and remove the arm completely. The older Necrons would be better at this, as they are more thickset. Hena's idea is good, I think, although it would need a bit of work. A look similar to the really old Lancers, with their long stride, would be great. |

Excellent knight conversion, Charad, I love what you've done with the concept! ![]() ![]() |

More constructive replies, thanks mates. ![]() I try that lowering the head, and making legs more bulky for next one. Maybe shortering arms a bit wouldn't hurt either. Lionel, that knight in french forum is gorgeous, but I don't have any old knights and I have to stick 'almost' with necron bits. Old necrons would be fantastic, almost perfect lancers, but sad they are so rare nowadays. Thanks for giving more inspiration, I'll try to make something at next week. |

Damn you Charad! I was keeping my necron idea under wraps until I was ready to reveal my cunning plan! I was intending on using Ncron warriors as the basis for my Suns of Damnation AMTL Tzeentch force! Nice work BTW! D. |

I really think they will look great on tzeentch colours. ![]() Now I have been building more knights (almost all complete for painting) and two more knights are ready. With your feedback and other ideas I every knight become unique. Next one, bulkier attack knight: ![]() ![]() ![]() I take pictures of third one when base is dry. |

This one was built by my good friend Corben. A real heavy Knight! I really like his vision of knight and also thanks for supplying me his old necron minis. C-class Heavy knight: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() only three to go and then a group shot. |

Hey Charad, I think these guys would look better with some grey highlighting near the joints and such. Another interesting experiment would be to paint them in a very dark grey, and use black for shading the inner joints and rib cage. Then use a somewhat dark grey for lining the plates. That will help provide definition. Keep it up! There are some neat design elements here, please keep persuing your idea. |
