Been busy with a new job, but aiming to finish up my Nid army for Mechanicon at the end of the month. To get myself back up and running I slapped some paint on a test piece for my Knight army. Not sure I'm 100% sold on it and there's lots of other details I want to bring out before making a final call, but here's the first iteration:

Thanks Primarch. After thinking about it for a day, I'm going to go back and redo the lance. It really wasn't what I was looking for and for personally invokes too much the idea of fluffy clouds in a summer sky! I'm going to choose a more industrial metallic approach, and possibly go for a heated metal approach.

Alright. Went back and gave the lancer a touch up. Fixed the Lance, added shoulder art, and gave an attempt at give the chest vent a bit of a reactor "glow". Also based the model on a field of longer grass. I know the contrast isn't ideal, but I was really hoping to capture the fluff of knights being created for agrarian worlds. I'd be happy for anyone to provide feedback on the "glow". Also, if anyone has suggestions on how to further develop the shoulder with the minimalist yellow marking. I'd appreciate it!

Alright, so in 2016 I plan on putting together my Space Wolves army. Give. That 2015 was the year I worked on Nids, this seemed a good place to start off. The beginnings of an objective:

Seems like 2016 will be the Year of the Marine - if I get a notable value of Hawk Lords together, perhaps we'll eventually have that game we talked about in 2014. :D

Either way, that looks like a great beginning - looking forward to seeing some lovely wolves.

DK- I'm still in the area so let me know if you'd like to! If you need more units, let me know as well. I have a bunch of the Epic 40k plastics I'm looking to unload for decent prices, especially if it'll convert you!

Put a little more work in tonight. Hoping to get some snow in place tomorrow, seal it up, then start on the next one!

The lighting is blurring it all together a bit, but I did use a highlights and shading to put depth on the mound o' gribblies. I'll have to see if I can get a better shot another time.

Thanks man! I'm pretty happy with how its coming along.

Got a question to throw to the masses. I've been looking for a good looking model to represent the Fenrisian Wolves. I recently ordered the 10mm giant Wolves from Cobblestone Casting. And let me say this, they are beautiful models. Lots of clean lines that I have a feeling will look fantastic when finished. However, they may be a little over-sized, even for giant death world wolves.

So what do people think? "Too large, back to the drawing board" OR "Now that's a wolf I'd go on an intergalactic crusade with!"
