Thanks guys.

All, or nearly all, of the detail will be translated. I have become somewhat accustomed to NinjaMagic's 3D printer and its abilities, so I only model parts within its design parameters.

Naturally the master patterns will be bronze.

And bronze is strong enough for spin-casting vulcanized molds...

I love this sentence :)

Absolutely stunning Otterman! I LOVE this model and your work in general!  :D

Have a couple of minor suggestions (which I hope its okay to offer?):

Would it be possible to do the claws less crab style and more like the W40k one? i.e. with the front claws being two pieces that the back claw looked like it would slide between when the claw closed? If it were not possible to mould a proper gap in the claws a deep as possible indentation suggesting such could serve the save purpose. They’re a large focal point for the model and I reckon the extra detail / accuracy to the W40k version would improve it.

Also, a very minor thing, but IMO the tip barrel section of the battle cannon might look better as a smaller cylinder, rather than the cone you have now, which is suggestive of a plasma weapon and just a little wrong looking.

DROOOOOOOOLLLL!!!!!

That's just absolutely stunning!!!

I'll echo GlynG's sentiments regarding the claws though: A small recess to suggest the claws being seperate would finish it off nicely. The rest can be done with paint.

I'll see what I can do with the front claws and an indent. Our goal is to suggest individual 'fingers', so a simple .25 mm panel line should suffice.

Regarding the cannon, that's the actual shape underneath the dragon head. Any other opinions out there as to what the tip of the battle cannon should look like?

Mate,

This is such an awesome project, I have but one question, will they be the same size as the ones you have already produced of I's design.

Cheers
Cal

A little bigger, I think. I measured one of Illuvitar's side legs, and it was about 16mm. Mine seems to be about 22mm.

I'm a little tipsy right now. The most sure way is to measure a 28mm Defiler, then scale by 25%.

While talking with Yen I realized my approach to the leg plugs might be all wrong. I'll post pictures here for judgement as time allows.

Is this what you guys had in mind for the claws? Any more pronounced and the undercut will probably degrade the mold too much.

Also, I stared at the big gun some more and decided to make the advised change:

in terms of the undercut and mold degradation: could you not have the sides of the undercut at say 60degress to vertical? Same deal as the past rivet problem, makes the rubber a bit stiffer where it joins the main mold.
