My painting will never do justice to Wargames Foundry miniatures. Here's my first gunfighter - at last.
Yee-ha. ?
PS - as for the Ork - you can't help noticing how much more realistically scaled the Foundry miniature is. All right, the Ork is an Ork, still.... To be fair, I love that old model with the power claw. He was an unplanned purchase - I found him looking incredibly sorry for himself in a store in Sheffield, sold 2nd hand assembled and painted but terribly chipped. I changed some of his colours, and am currently restoring the old boy. I've also promoted him to Warboss, in spite of the lack of snazzy bitz other than the claw. I think he'll be a good general...

X-Com rules! (oh, sorry, y'all Europeans know it as UFO: Enemy Unknown) | Are you a mind reader? That's because X-Com 3 (AKA "Apocalypse") is one of the games I bbuilt that machine for.
Just about done with the desert theme Tau. Just have two more Broadsides to strip and repaint. Then it's on to the "ESWAT 'Tau'", which are going to incorporate a lot of other manufacturer's suits. VC's CLAW suits are 28mm Landmates, and Pig Iron Productions heavy infantry are dead ringers for 28mm Orc suits. (Battlesuits and Stealth suits, respectively, and half the price!) |
Been toying with an idea of converting a Battlesuit into Landmate myself, recently. Wish you luck.
Great Ork, Jimbo. E'z a Bluud ax, eh?
Presently Im doing up an Ork WarTrukk into a T-Bucket style HotRod.
Whooa. Orky, if I ever saw one.
Myself, I've been sucked into building two Eldar Guardians. I plan to paint them into a dark blue/ and red color scheme (tested out in Dawn of War and looking rather good there).
Then, the Inquisitor. Or rather two - first is almost exactly the stock model with Inferno Pistol, but the brazier on top of the gun was removed and it will do rather well as a Plasma Pistol. The other -][- is a bit more... exquisitely... converted - named Amelia Stramm (yeah, sounds weird - well, this name just popped up in my head and couldn't shake it off ever since), the model had its head exchanged for a Seraphim one, right arm (the mace) swapped for the sword from Canoness blister and the left arm also combined with a Canoness forearm and an Eldar Guardian hand (I wanted an open hand, to make her look like she's using a psychic power - will later add GS effects to that). Now I'm itching to remove that stupid cocard from the back of the miniature - just doesn't fit with the grim no-nonsense look I want to achieve.
Worked a bit more on chpl. Raziel - he'll be ready soon.
Also finished my Raven Knight Marine. I'll take pics of the model and then move on to painting.
As to painting... I've been so happily building anc converting miniatures lately that I ignored the growing qeque of stuff I have to paint. Seems I'm in for a couple of paintathons shortly, as the pile now includes no less then 15 miniatures...
