Thought i'd do a quick paint job on one of Ben's new leviathan stalker models to see what it looked like. I'm going to be useing them as true scale warlord titan proxies to go with my OOP Legio Mortis battle group as show at the beggining of the year.

This model would just be from another lesser forgeworld and not be a mars pattern design.

It's not 100% finished yet as i still have weathering to do and maybe some heraldry. But i figured you guys may like to see a almost painted sample. :)

Nice paint job. What's you're opinion on it as a model? Nice to put together? Well cast (is it resin or metal?)?

It's metal and quite weighty.

Over all it's fairly easy to assemble with reasonable flexibility for pose the only problem i had was the cast on hydraulic pistons on the feet which you have to trim back for them to fit properly. I've pinned everything together to strengthen the model.

My only other gripes are the heads that come with the model none of which i'm happy with but hey i can put up with that. The head i chose is the most imperial looking of those on offer and at the moment it's only the pin that's holding the head on as i may choose to change it at a later date. Also would have liked the head unit to have an access tunnel conection like an imperial titan as the head is attached via a small ball and socket joint which does not look all that robust for battle and i can't see how the pilots are supposed to get in the head.

I would have liked some of the other weapons to have been a bit chunkier too.

These are just very minor things that in no way would put me off getting more of these in the future, in fact i have several more to put together already.

Thanks for viewing. :)

Cool to see one! :) Is that a 60mm base or something larger?

Hey Glyn these are custom cut 1.6mm ply from Fenris 70mm in diameter as i found this to be an ideal size for true scale titans.

Cheers

I think that Leviathan's a lovely model and your paint job is very clean and crisp. I never did get the hang of weathering, so I kinda like it how it is now. I'm curious to see it next to a Beetleback (or an Imperator!).
