Out of interest, do GW own the copywrite on 'your' image, as it is a derivative work based on their stuff?

My limited knowelge is that WMN owns copyrights on a) the paintjob, b) the unique sculpt, and c) the photograph. GW can claim copyright on the parts they produced, but the assemblege remains WMN's given it is not sold or designed by GW as a whole.

In the EU at least im not sure the fact that it is a 'unique' helps unless it is deemed to be a significant enough alteration to make it a new work, which i guess it is here. Unless it meets that criteria i dont think the other 2 matter. I was under the impression that if i paint a GW mini and take a regular photograph of it, they retain ownership of any IP as a derivative work. GW are just generous enough to allow us to post pictures around.

I am almost certainly wrong, just thinking out loud.

I have to ask permission before posting other peoples painted EW miniatures on my website. Whilst I own the copyright of the actual miniature design, I don't own the physical miniature after sale, once painted and photographed. The digital image is owned by the customer.

ImageBreaking radio silence to bring you this special bulletin. Just finished (and long overdue) the EW Large Behemoth. I'll have some pictures from different angles ready in the next couple of days.

Seems the upload image function is bugged in Firefox. Am I the only one having this problem? Happens on both my laptop and my desktop...

No problems here - though the max image size is limited to just 640x640 now.

Ah, that is probably part of the issue.

Many thanks Iain. I'm sure image hosting must be one of the more expensive elements of the forum so a generous size allowance is much appreciated.

Currently, we are on unlimited bandwidth. Whenever I check out hosting, there are certain things that I look out for, for a hobby wargame site, and bandwidth is key for my requirements.

That is strange. The upload image box causes a FireFox error with me, but attaching below the actual post works OK. It also causes an error if you try to attach a different format. For me, PNG caused an error while the above is a JPG. I will look into this.

Seems better now. For future reference what are the max dimensions and file size for uploaded images?

I am still playing with them, but today it is 1024x1024, 2Mb.
JPG appears to work right now, PNG and GIF not so much.
