Just amazing. I love how every miniature is slightly different, and yet the force never looks chaotic or incoherent.

cheers all

Been poking away at something a bit different, drawing up a campaign map for next weekend. This is fairly large, A1 size (23.4 x 33.1 inches). Would be better with some blue sea wash and something a bit more convincing than pencil shading for jungle, but i don't have the time at present!

(was unsure how to do jungle, but pencil shading is fast and i can just erase it once i have a better idea for inking it in properly, or if i watercolour the whole thing)

That is cool. Is it based on anything or just free handing all the way?

It's based on four maps,
this: http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/war ... 0902045209
this: http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/war ... 1215212554
The board from the old Battle for Armageddon board game, and the map from the Armageddon source map.

None of the maps really match each other, especially in terms of river course and island shape (even labelling the same exact feature as different things …). Mine is mostly based on the second map with the sea area shrunk a bit (as we won't be using it), broad proportions copied with a 5*7 grid and drawn in pen. 5*7 is pretty vague at A1 scale, but as all the maps are different anyway, who cares :spin

the worse thing about all the versions of maps is that at some point some of them changed the orientation of north to being up (the Boardgame actually was to the left and was the originator followed by the WD articles)

great work (as always) Apoc
