Hi Guys,

As promised, find below some shots of my Death Riders after a week-end of work. ;D

My Workbench in all its glory saturday evening. I've only put the turquoise base color on the armors :

Image

A test of color for the armor of my riders, in yellow like my grenadiers or in iron. I've chosen the Iron :

The final photos taken Sunday after a looooooooooooong afternoon of work :

They look great, good work! I'm not sure I'd have gone with iron for the helmets though. I think you need something to set the riders head apart from the rest of the mini so it breaks well visually at arms length and helps define the shape of the rider even if we can't see much detail. Maybe the Iron pops better in life, but it seems to be getting a bit lost amid rest of the stand.

I ran into the same issue when I painted my Praetorian Combat Servitor heads gold and it's why I switched to white for the AdMech robots and my cron infantry.

Mate,

Lovely work as usual, I concur with Vaaish though on the helmet. In that second photo the stand on the right does a lot more to display the figures head. Keep it coming mate, we nee to see them in a game soon. :)

Cheers
Aaron

This army is really fantastic! One of the best ones I've seen. I'm looking forward to the continuation.

(Would you perhaps be among the french thinking of going to Berlin to the European team tournament? It would sure be eye-candy to play against this army and see it first hand. :) )

Cheers

Thanks for your feedback Vaaish and Aaron ! That's the problem with this army and why i've done a test with "Yellow / Gold" armor as for my Grenadiers Squad. Ocre Yellow is a constrastive color of the turquoise blue. I've asked my facebook community to know what version had their preference. And the metal one has won...

I've to find the good color for the helmet or to push more the hilight on the helmet. Cos i want to have the same color for armor plates and helmets for each of my units. But i agree with you, this choise is not the best because it's darken the minis so the rider does not pop on the stand. :(

Here is the Chromatic Circle i've used to the choise of my color scheme :

Hi Borka, thank you very much for your kind comment. I've seen the topic dedicated to this European Event on the French Forum, but unfortunately, i won't be present. I've a very occupied working life and very little spare time. This one is dedicted to my family first and a little bit for the hobby, my website, social media... And i'm a big noob at Epic Armageddon. I've only played a SINGLE game 3 years ago. ;D

Hi Guys !
Here are some photos my recent (but slow) work on 3 Super Heavies.

FIRST STEP :

Assembling the big guys and creating the stands for my 3 super heavies

You can find a tutorial i wrote some month ago on how creating such stands on the French Epic Forum : http://epic-fr.niceboard.com/t5384p210- ... pts#100292

SECOND STEP :

Black and White Priming. It helps to see more details and the overall look & fell of the stands.
The last shot shows the uniformity of all the bases of my army.

You can also follow all my work on this army on my website Figouz.net or on the Figouz.net's FB page (links in my signature below).

Comments are welcome ! Cheers ! ^^

Actually joking aside, there's a serious awesome technique for painting that involves black basecoat with a stark direct vertical highlight with drybrush or aribrushing white. Once dry you "paint" the colors on with washes. Sound funky but it's insane how good an effect and fast it comes out.

Back on topic:
I so love every time I see an update this this thread (or your posts on FB), mate! Phenomenal work!

@jimmy it is tough to get that effect. Usually brown washes for manual shadows and then the coloured wash is much easiser.

David,

Lovely work mate, you and Elsmore are certainly the kings of basing. Get some paint on them mate, I am wondering where you will go with the blue and gold on these ones. :p

Cheers
