Hello, as well as my Epic Inquisition Drop Fortress, which you can see at my website, I've been chipping away at a few things, including a Death Watch Kill Team for 40k.  Here's a pic!

Starting from the left, I'll paint them to be from the following chapters: Salamanders, Haven't decided (!), Raven Guard, Ultramarines, Crimson Fists.

I'm also planning to add two Heavy Bolter marines, and another team member from Space Wolves (I would have made him, but alas I've packed away my sprue with Space Wolf parts.)

Com back this time next year, because it'll probably be about that time before they're painted!  :D

Oh, and here's a close up pic of the Raven Guard Librarian who will be the Captain of the Kill Team.

He's made from parts from the plastic Space Marine commander & command sprue, and his force weapon was made from a banner pole cut down (still a bit wonky as you can see!), with part of an assault marine power axe and Banner effigy at the top.  Oh, and a purity seal to hide the rough bits!

The psychic hood is made from the bottom of an older-version SM shoulder pad, stuck together, with some green stuff to smooth the join.

:)

Done painting another Battle Sister.
Prepped an array of bitz that will go into the second Iron Angel, who will be my entry for the conversion contest on Relic forums. Naturally, with my madness et al, that thing will surely go to the upper contest tier.
Wrote a piece of fluff story on the IA armor as well as updated my old concept graphic.

Seems my pal aint going to get his digicam back today - this means trouble for me on all length. And if that will really be that way... Heads. Will. Roll.

Another part of Bloodrayne: Improved is complete now. I had a fair share of bugs popping out in the script and pretty much everything else literally at the last minute, but managed to fix them in time.

Iron Angel concept graphic Mk. II:

And here is the fluff story:
All lumination in the cluttered room was provided only by a few auxiliary lighting panels, as the main light sources were knocked out an hour or so before by a power surge within the system. And yet, this did not seem to stop the frantically working Techmarine or even slow him down one jot. Even though he slept maybe six hours over the last week, his working pace seemed to be actually accelerated, as if he could draw more energy from lack of sleep rather then losing it.

He knew that this has well exceeded the limits even of the superhuman Astartes and that he will probably collapse from the lack of sleep in next few hours, but he would rather shoot himself with his Bolter then go to rest without finishing his current work.

"Here we go again..."

Armored fingers moved on the computer panel with almost inhuman speed, typing lines upon lines of commands, as a three-dimensional holographic display showing cross-sections of some suit of powered armor were displaying various informations.

"The voltage seemed to not be enough. Let's up it - a little...
// vt 230

"The armor was over-reacting a bit, wasn't it? Moment..."
//rf 80%

"Very well..."

//apply

RECORD NEW OPERATIONAL PARAMETERS INTO THE BIOS?

[Y]

REBOOTING...

The display went blank for a few seconds, and a new mesage appeared, flashing from dark to bright green several times:

SYSTEM BOOT IN PROGRESS

Half a minute later, this was replaced with a new information:

BOOT COMPLETE

"There. Try now."

The other figure in the room was so far staying motionless and patiently waiting. Now it moved its armored arm to sight and flexed the wrist and fingers several times. Then it made a couple steps forward and punched the air quickly a few times.

"The machine spirit seems to be reacting correctly now, Brother Malachai."

"Very well. I'd like you to try this out..."

The Techmarine's servo-arm reached to the nearby workbench and returned holding a large object. Because of the lighting it was barely recognizable as some sort of Space Marine helmet, altough the faceplate didn't look like any of the standard types used with Marine powered armor.
Malachai walked to the waiting marine and handed him the helmet. The marine put the helmet on, the armored sleeve automatically hermetizing the joint between the helmet and rest of the armor.

"I don't see any differences between its operation and that of my own Eagle class helmet. Could you tell me what is it supposed to do?"

Malachai let out a sigh.

"If you ask... enter Armor Properties, then Installed Hardware and check the Properties tab on Auto-Senses. An appropriate driver has already been installed in your suits operating system, but the advanced functions need to be manually enabled."

"One moment... I see it... Enabled."

"Now, check the vision modes."

"Standard, light amplification, thermal, UV and IR... spectral analysis, radiation, sonar, echolocation?"

"As you can see, your autosenses now support a much wider spectrum of displays. You can now combine some of these displays, giving you greater awareness of the situation and your surroundings. It also sports several other helpful features, as you will soon discover. Maybe you'd like to try it out in the training chamber, Brother Camael?"

"I'd be honored, Brother-Techmarine."

They both left the room and followed the corridors of the Battle Barge to the training rooms, ending their path in front of a doorway leading to one of the smaller chambers.

"Before you enter, I feel obliged to inform you of two new features that I have added to the armor itself, as you might like to use them during the test as well.
First, you can enable a temporary boost of power to the actuator circuitry. Altough the power drain it causes is substantial and the actuators cannot function in this way for extended periods without damage, it might be useful in situations when that extra bit of raw force is neccesary.
You activate it via a mental command, and must confirm the choice on a subsequent prompt. I have introduced safety routines to the armors' spirit that will automatically deactivate the booster after ten minutes of continouous usage or if the power level drops to below seventy-five percent norm. ?The strength increase should border on double the normal suit efficiency in the best case, altough if you activate a second boost under an hour from the last one, you risk damage to both the actuators and the machine spirit.
Second is something much simpler, but has its uses too. The knuckles integrated into your gauntlets have been plugged into the internal power source, and with an appropriate mental command you can order the armor to apply various levels of voltage to them, from ones that will only cause concussion up to and including levels that will immediately electrocute a human being. The power usage depends on the setting, and altough even the highest setting will never match a power weapon, it might come in handy under certain circumstances."

"I will bear that knowledge in mind, Brother Malachai."

"Good hunting."

Camael entered the training room. After approximately ten minutes, he emerged from the doorway again.

"Brother Malachai, the Emperor himself must have guided your skill when you built this suit! It did everything you told me about!"

"Any personal thoughts on its function, Brother Camael?"

"Indeed. The experience is glorious!"

"Thank you for your help, Brother. This suit belongs to you now, please keep it in good shape."

"I certainly will. Such a wondrous gear deserves nothing less."

Having said this, Camael marched in the direction of the sleeping chambers. Malachai's work was done, and so he returned to his workshop to put the finishing touch on the design.

He swept away most of the contents of the workbench to its side and reverently laid out the design sheets in the space. Then he has lighted an incense burner holding the specific sort of incense burnt during the sanctification of final designs. Finally, Malachai reached into one of the ?poaches, drawing a vial containing some reddish liquid.

"Design, in the name of Omnissiah I christen you with my sweat and my blood."

He unscrewed the vial, poured several drops of the liquid onto the fingers of his right gauntlet and smeared it in one of the corners of each sheet. Then he has screwed the vial back and returned it to the poach he took it from.

"By recognition of your resilience, I give you a name of mighty armors of old - Iron! By those whose colors you will bear in battle, I call you - Angel!"

"From now on, thee shall be known as... Angelus Ferrum, the Iron Angel!"

I forgot to tell you guys: While in melbourne I got this very cool 1/144 scale diecast self propelled mortar model by Can.Do (part of Dragon)

You can see it here:
http://www.mibglobal.com.au/prod4036.htm

There are also some big rail guns in the series (as P told us a few motnhs ago I think) but this was new and different (for me anyway)

Its nicely painted already and with a couple of Imperial eagles glued on ecah side will make a Great Ordinatus!  Enemies of the Emperor beware!!!! :D

Something not mentioned in my prev post: spent well over six hours to get my OS in a less cluttered state. I used a program called BoostSpeed, and it worked like a charm. However I had this sort of... hunch... and thus ran my computer through all manner of antivirus and anti-spyware software. Seems like a few bugs have managed to sneak up afterall. Squashed.

Nice piece, Tas (you old gunner!) ! :D  I'm working on Lizardmen Epic scale Ruins (LotR with L/Man glyphs +) and Gladiator Miniatures Aztec Temple (w/glyphs +), as I have discussed before.  These will go with my Jungle Terrain set and Pendraken 10mm Space Lizardmen and Predator Alien forces ! :D

Doing lots of reading and bookbuying- got a whole stack of SF paperbacks and hardbacks today for a very reasonable price..

I also picked up a old book, "Soviet Warships - The Soviet Surface Fleet 1960 to the present" by John Jordan for 50p, which while a little outdated (pub in the mid 80s) is an interesting read all the same for those interested in military, naval and Cold War history.. lots of great B&W photos, drawings and stuff too. :)

Shoulda known Tas would go for one of those.  I've gotta get a better paying job, soon, so I can afford all the toys I want!

I spent a chunk of last night looking at my build pile, trying to come up with a Marine CAS/fighter in 40k scale.  Looks like it's going to be made from a 1/72nd Italeri X35, with 'some' improvements.:p

Also came to a realization that a 1/48th scale FW190 would make a nice basis for a scratchbuilt TBolt in 40k scale, for less than a quarter the price of the FW version.  :blues:

Very nice indeed, fantastic insignia. Not so sure about the flames from the bolter, the forward pointing looks great, the side vents a little weird.

No painting for me for a long time :( , I've invested though in some storage boxes so am on a re-organisation kick, expensive enough but I've got 2 packs of 4 trays, about A3 size and multi-partitionable, perfect for an army. :D

Nice work T5H - I like the used shells cascading out of the bolter - what did you use for those (if it's not a trade secret!)?
