Today we have visited 2 completely different time periods, Republican Rome and the far future.

Baccus 6mm Romans and Critical Mass Games 15mm SF miniatures feature.

Your stuff looks really good.  I have a really dumb question though:

How do you attach your stuff to the popsicle sticks for priming/painting?

Hi Kealios, the figures are attached with PVA glue.

After missing a few days painting last week it was back to normal today.  GHQ Germans, Old Crow Naval and Critical Mass Games ARC Fleet.

Back to painting by beloved scale today with jolly nice GHQ ww2 British figures.

It has been a while since I played with any GHQ infantry, what scale are they again? I seem to remember them being a fair bit bigger than 6mm? Or am I getting my ranges mixed up!

God, I really need to get some Daleks. Hooray for the Exodus Wars MBT! Do you have any feedback, from a painter's point of view? Panel lines too narrow / too wide / just right, etc.?

I second otters request, would be intresting to see how a profession painter views his work!

Incidentally Phil its great to see the work you do on the blog (if only because you get such a great range of 6mm stuff on it), tis probably the best use of the whole blog idea I've yet seen (okay I don't really read blogs and other such new fangled things) and really should be an inspiration for any other painter working on commissions!

Thanks Chris :)  I actually find the blog thing inspires me too.  I look at the photos and then I can see areas where I can improve my painting.

@Otterman (and Chris!) The Irregular not Daleks are OK.  Quite nice models they are not overly detailed but then I suppose they could run into copyright issues if they were exact.  The ones I have painted are just for me so I was going for an overall effect, that said they are very simple to paint up.  I have missed out painting on the globes on the Dalek lower body, I did a test model and it just looked wrong.  When I finish the project (yeah right), the Dalek horde should look very impressive.

How do you attach your stuff to the popsicle sticks for priming/painting?

PVA glue -- in the U.S., Elmer's glue... is great stuff for the purpose.  It holds the minis fairly well, but it is water soluble, so removing the minis from the popsicle stick is a simple question of leaving them to soak in water overnight.

Ok these are not quite 6mm (more like 3mm!) but they are nice :)

I'd forgotten to photograph these after they were painted, so here we have the 2nd blog instalment for today!

My god they are great, I had no idea 2mm had come so far, I'm still used to them being blobs of lead. Makes for great pub table games does 2mm :)

Did you paint the detail on all these or is it a wash? How much cleaning did they need? And how many minutes of gaming will the barrels last?

Hi Chris,

Yup the detail is painted on.  Cleaning is really minimal just a bit of excess metal here and there, but not much at all.  I think out of all the models only about 25% needed cleaning up.

As  far as the barrels go (this sounds daft) they are far sturdier than 6mm ones!  The barrels are supported underneath with a thin strip of metal.  On a 6mm model or bigger that would just look wrong but on these it is fine.

It was certainly a day for a treadhead today at Firezone Studios.  Lots of German armour on the workbench.

Today I have mostly been painting GHQ WW2 German Infantry.  These are for a commission.

I haven't been all that wondrous recently but am getting back into the groove.  Today we have been tackling some 6mm GHQ WW2 Germans and have also been putting a start on a battlegroup for Future War Commander.

Beautiful pics!  Ive been wanting some of those Achilles MBTs for my IG army, but have been building my Eldar up first.  I want them to work for both IG and FWC, which, while I have not played, I do own and want to play at some point!

Your detail on these tiny guys is amazing.  I get all crosseyed and cant keep the brush strokes still enough for such detail!
