Absolutely incredible...

It's fortunate for Warmaster Nice that you've got no skill in painting, C-g...  :))

Thanks guys! Yep, very happy with it, almost a bit too frightened to paint it...

But I'll probably start on the Infantry first to get a good idea of a colour scheme, but at over 10K now for the chaos, it might be a little while before it get some paint.

A special thanks must be given to Onyx, for so much of the motivation and alot of the conversion ideas came from looking at what Onyx has been doing with both his and Cal's Chaos.

As for being able to paint like Warmaster nice, I WISH!

Would it be possible to get a quick walk-through on how you managed to make those rows of pyramidal spikes on your Imperator?
I have been attempting to emulate them with no success whatsoever and am ready to ask for some help :glare:

Ok, there may be easier ways to do these but I'm still learning myself so this is how I did it:

(1) roll out the putty into a long cylinder that goes the length of the location that you want it to go and fix it to the location. Ive been told that using airplane glue is a good quick way to make it fix into location, but I found that it makes the putty cure along the spots that touch the glue and you cant do anything with it.

(2)Push it down on two of the sides so that you make it from the cylinder to a ridge line (a long Pyramid) that runs along where you want it to go.

(3)Using your modeling tool, cut into the ridge line (slightly wet on the end and the face of the tool surface so it doesn't stick) the number of spikes that you want to use (mine had the 4 evenly spaced spikes).

(4)start with the first one at either end and with your tool gently begin to flatten one of the 4 sides that isnt apart of the original ridge line, do the opposite side next and slowly work these two to a point that you are happy with, the other 2 sides should have already had some shape from when you made the ridge line and should retain a certain amount of this.

(5) Next Pick the side which has the most uneven look to it and continue to do the same treatment as you did in step 4 (but this time slowly work on all 4 sides of the pyramid spike.

(6)Move onto the next spike and re-do steps (4) & (5) until all spikes are done.

Hope that makes sense, let me know if it doesnt or if you have any questions.

Thanks C-G, it worked a treat.
I think I waited too long when I first tried it and lost the initial tackiness that helps adhere the sausage to the area to be spiked.

Not a problem at all dude, the hardest part is just finding the time to sit down and write it out. Ive just started to paint the CSM's so I'm being tempted even now back to the painting desk :D

Throw up some pics of what your working on.
