Finished my WWII Soviet army(ies) for Flames of War! 1500points of Motorised infantry & 1700points Tank Bataljon. Well.. finished until Christmas when I might be getting a few reinforcements of course.. ? |
Tuff,
Now you can get the new Soviet armored forces book and truly go wild. |
hehe - I got a pre-release copy 2 weeks ago. That was the spark which got me off my butt to actually finish it!
The armies have already had the odd unit added & are totally Za Stalina compatible & will remain so after the festive campaign reinforcements of 7 T-70s, and a mortar company
Only downside is that the new book makes my SU122s and SU152 near useless for the points, so when they release the models I'll be switching to SU85s as soon as I can afford them?

Hi!
That may be difficult. It wasnt what you'd call a common item even when they were making them. To find somebody selling one virtually intact may be hard.

Nearly finished the harpy-elf conversion. The bits were almost a perfect fit, with very little GS needed, but I'll have to do a little fixing at the waist joint for it to look right.

Harpy-Elf is done and in painting queque. I dug up my old "Dark Banshee" conversion and finished it. Raven Knight no.3 is further on the way, steady progress on final details of no.1 and 2. Battlemaster conversion got some more GS-ing, I might actually finish it. Chaplain Raziel is nearly complete, detailing the model right now. I have however a tough dilemma as to the actual pose he will be in - the current parts set-up offers four possibilities, all of them pretty good. Aww.
Getting a digicam within next 48 hours. Since the major telecomms company in Poland seems to don't give a rat's arse about their clients, I'll check up on wireless internet connection. To hell with Telecomune!

Pics of the first half of my current pride & joy - my FoW Soviet army are now up on my site.
Its only the the Motostrelkovy Bn (motorised inf..) portion currently on display as I've decided to hold back on photographing the armour portion of my army until the new year as the army is receiving a few reinforcements this christmas & then I can post them all up in one big lump! So dont fear all you tread heads - the New year will see the addtion of about 2 Dozen tanks
Picture of the whole force attached, Pics of individual units can be seen HERE
Oh - and I've doen an update which includes a few epic bits - I'll post on my updates thread with more info

hehe - thanks guys.
Its silly really, but yes I am proud. These are a long way off from my best work, but It such a long time since I finished an army for me rather than a customer, its nice to actually be able to field them as an army & game with them myself rather than finishing an army every fortnight & posting them off halfway across the globe!

Quote (Warmaster Nice @ 29 Nov. 2005 (13:35)) | I'm not sure if it's got anything to do with the fact that there's somewhere between 6 and 14 wireless networks in our area... By any rate it is extremely annoying. | Yes that will cause problems.
Check the channels the others are on (using a wireless sniffing programme), try to ensure that yours is at least three channels away.
If you can't find what other channels are being used, try 1 or 11 (or 13 if available).
I know late reply...
