Urgh. Long time since I last painted Smurfs... I must say the blue drybrush I had planed turned out particularly horrible on this model :( I might have to go over it again at some point and touch up some shades and highlights...

No, take one Rhino and remove bolters and rear top deck hatch.  Take one E40K Valhallan seated autocannon dude and slice off base just under the gun shield.  Slice off remnants from circular base and re-glue top of figure onto this (turret bezzel).  Glue turret to hull.  Optionally add turret side panels and applique armour.   :)

Poor Ultramarines, they are the butt of every Space Marine joke...

My favourite memory of Ultramarines was in this article Battle of Baena VI although for fluff reasons and to inject a tiny modicum of personality into them, I refered to them as Word Bearers.

Worked a bit on the PLasma Anihilator on the Lucius pattern Imperator. I tried to do the "glowy" effect but couldn't get it to look right so in the end I ust painted it traditionally.
Unfortunately the camera flash spoils mich of it... Gawd, I can't wait to get my proper camera back from repair...

that is really pretty. plasma glow is not to every bodies taste it does involve some complex mental ray tracing. I do it because I'm a stubborn, mad ba%$?rd. I've been known to argue for half an hour over people getting NMM chrome wrong, pointing out parallel planes and mapping light rays from imaginary sky domes.

Just because I tell them that they shouldn't have two horizons on the same plane even if the two parts of the plane are not connected... or that a concave curve should have the horizon upside down as light rays on the top of the curve come from lower than those at the bottom.... IT MAKES ME SO MAD that I have to go stick a stupid rabbit in a blender to lower my rage.....
