Photos are coming out a bit strangely, the brown areas are no where near so strong in real life :/

could do this up really nicely and quickly with an air brush, shame i don't have one

Castellum ate my paintbrush :o This was a regular no.2 Kolisnky sable when I started (normal length/shape). Now it looks like a stippling brush :/

Fan-flippin'-tastic. Great to see this finished. I don't think the brown areas look overdone at all.

Brown on the metal ground plates look subtler on what I have on front of me. If you look back at the one sample piece on the page before they all look like that (that same piece is in the total layout unchanged) – hints of brown at borders of plates, not solid areas of mud and rust :/ Doesn't really matter I suppose.

Fantastic work, and well worth a brush or two. Very inspiring, as always.

Yeah how'd you do that base?

I was thinking of something along the lines of using panzer base for that reddish orange undercoat and then stipple gunmental with various pigments added but I think I'm over thinking it :)

black -> rough dry brush of boltgun (leave it un-even in terms of coverage) -> brown chalk pastel (scrape to powder with a blade).

If you actually like the way it looks in photos over are subtler effect you'd just use a thicker a plication of pastel.

Planning to pop some magnets on it when i do some more titan magnetising this fortnight, might not get round to magnetising the turrets themselves though.

Re-sorting my chaos from a regular KR case into a half case and lego shelves, so, inspired by WMN's epic-epic-comp entry, I decided to update my chaos army shot.

Last did this almost exactly two years ago. Mostly vehicles (30+) and war engines added since then. Found my nurgle reaver in the intervening years, but it suffered a critical hit last year and is in a lot of bits now. Hellbrute absent as i have no idea where it's gone -.-'

Happy Holidays :spin

Still to add to the khorne: banelord, bikers (8), doom blasters (4 or 8 ), dreadclaws (1+), dreadnoughts (3), brass scorpions (2). Maybe a couple of blood thirsters.

Excellent work as ever, this is one of the best chaos armies around, superb painting and loads of effective conversions just make it awesome

Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh at the EEC in May :)
