your worried theres not enough blue ? i think the flames will be enough. another great fig, thanks again for sharring. even if it does make as all feel ashamed. :p

 no fire prisms in the formation ?

yeah it was the fact that they are quite a bit paler than the rest... however I think it will work as a unit. The formation is going to be 4 falcons and 1 firestorm. Everytime I look at the GW fire prisms, those crystals just look too big.

Although the jewels are a bit large, you can soften their impact a bit, and from a gaming perspective, you do want a SoV formation with them as the dominant vehicle.

Are you planning on doing any of the super heavy tanks? They are some of the best sculpts SG has ever done and they look fantastic when painted...especially with the great paint jobs you are producing.

Btw, I'm not turning into a spandex wearer, though the Eldar vehicles sorely temp me...to start an Eldar army, not wear spandex.

I painted an Iyanden type of scheme (did the blue camo thing) for a friend and just fell in love with the vehicles.

It's been a little while since I posted any pictures, I had to take down the photography rig so we could burn stuff and make the house warm. well anyway I've got some painting done in the last week. firstly I've finished the unit of falcons





You were right they look fine with the rest of the army now that I've got the formation completed.

by this point I wanted a bit of a break from painting tanks. I know that I will have to go back and at least paint another formation of swords, a couple of super heavies and maybe even a fireprism formation. But I couldn't face them at the moment, so I decided to do some rangers. For one thing I could have some fun with the basing to give them a real sniper/city fight look. They were really quick to build and paint  managed to get them finished in a day which was really cool. makes me feel like I'm getting somewhere.

I've also went back and finished the farseers for my 3 formations of guardians. They have been sitting on my painting table for apsolutely ages. For some reason I've been having a complete painting block with them. I'm not sure they 100% work, however I can always go back and mess around with them later if I can think of what they need to make them perfect.

When I found out about brake fluid, I stripped a whole lot of my old models, among them was 3 Vibro Cannons and 3 crew. I really like the models, and as I am not using the scatter lasers as they look a bit naff, I'm going to use them as Support Weapons and the D cannons as heavy weapon platforms. They definitely look different. I really need to get hold of some more of them. Does anyone have any lying around not doing anything? I would like 6 more vibros and 6 more crew. However 3 of each would be better than nothing :)

Now for a little recap. I really liked Illuvitar's post quantity counts? Armies do look really cool when you see the whole lot together, so here is a picture. It's not brilliant. Still can't get this kind of photo to work.

Excellent job !  How'd I miss this thread !?!??!  Great painting !  I'm working in some Eldar Shrines and will use your technique on them !  Thanks for the pics and great job on the photos too!  :D

I thought also that prisms crystals vere too big, but when having them painted they look just fine to me...
