Hi people, I'm back again! A year in a uniform has granted me lots of knowledge about military intelligence, signals and mechanized warfare. So what could be better way to present my comeback than painting some infantry fighting vehicles? Here are my new Chimeras to provide mobility to my 1st jaeger company (and actually make them 1st armoured jaeger company).

The one in the middle is the company command tank, fitted with long range aerials and a dozer blade.

As my tank company uses numbers 100 - 133 I gave my Chimeras numbers 200 - 232.

My regiment's name and number are written vertically next to back doors.

Still got few days work to do...

Now for a military exercise: Recognise those vehicles I've used for Chimeras. I'm sure there are people here who have seen pretty much every tracked machine of war on this planet...

Hadn't seen this thread before. Nice-looking army.

Always interesting to see people using DRM models for Guardsmen, as I'm still not sure whether to use DRM for my infantry when I do an IG army.

They're Russian BMP-3s. From GHQ, I would guess.

Correct answer, these are BMP-3s from GHQ. Be proud AxelFendersson. I must say that those GHQ models are excellent quality, they only hade some very minor flash in turrets and nothing else.

Nice.

They came out really good.
Thank you. Even with simple painting these turn out good and from afar look just what they should be, camouflaged.

Thanks. During my recent military work, I hadn't time to paint anything so this sank to the depths of the board. But now that I'm back again, more Epic arctic goodness will follow. And I suggest DRM infantry for IG, they look so good.

Time for more. I just finished these three more Chimeras. Now only 3 more to go.

What do you think? Is something especially good, the camo for example? Could something be done better? Does my painting do any justice to GHQ's great detail?

Those tanks look really good, but I think a watered down black wash/inking would really bring out the detail and make them pop.

Washes are tricky on winter camo. They tend to make everything look grey. Especially if the paint or model surface is a bit uneven. For my own I had to go back and touch up the white areas afterwards before I got a result I found acceptable.
Very nice work. And eyah: GHQ is deinitely some of the very best miniatures out there. Definitely far beyond GW quality.

Those IFV's make excellent Chimeras. To bad they are so small...
...and DRM as IG just make so much sense.

Attention citizens! More Chimeras for the service of the most holy God-Emperor are finished. Actually I did little touch ups on all nine of them. Here are the pictures.

The whole 1st armoured jaeger company as it is currently.

The Chimeras speed forward, multi-lasers blazing in a mechanized assault.

Now to the next project...

Hello everyone! I haven't had any time for hobbies for several months as can be seen from my inactivity. Cause to this is a combination of moving to a new apartment, a new tech-project and studying while working. Yesterday I finally had time to actually paint something, and it was highly enjoyable due to the long pause. My regiment (more like a batallion at the moment) is lacking something very crucial to warfare, so I corrected this. I present thee, artillery!

The first 3 Basilisks, now providing my troops with indirect fire. All in the familiar snow-camo with slightly rusted tracks. As artillery uses quite large amounts of propellant, the barrels have been dirtied properly. This Basilisk squadron/platoon uses numbers 311 - 313. The regiment number is written to a very small plate on the left side of the tank. Dalo is written to a plate on the back of the turret. If you are wondering why the drive lights are not painted glassy, the reason is because they are covered to prevent detection by certain light amplifying devices.

And lastly, does anyone recognise the vehicle? It is German quality, recognisable of for example the shape of the turret.
