Continuing my quick projects this week, I present the six tomb spyders to go with my three warrior phalanxes. I hope to use the remainder of the week to finish converting up the two stands of pariahs for painting next week. After that it'll be grad show and I'll probably be doing well to just finish cleaning the last phalanx and fix the miscasts. After my show I'll be finishing out the last two thunder hawks for the Fists as well.

I must say though that when Oman redoes these I'd recommend that the small eye bits get enbiggened. I had to redo three of them to get the eyes to show up properly and I'm not even sure I actually painted the cast detail or if I just pained my own detail in place.

Your tomb spiders look fantastic. Basing job, highlists, shadows, small details, there's everything on the painting job.

Are the tomb spiders from a new pattern ? Mine seems to have more metal between legs :P I did you handly remove all metal excess ?

Eye enlargement: by your command.

Scream, there's no new pattern. Vaaish must have filed out the material by hand.

Thanks! As Oman says, these are originals, A friend of mine and I used a dremel to grind out all of the excess material. I think it took about 5 minutes per spyder to do so not too much time. If I did it again, I'd have ground out a bit more material but I was unsure of compromising the integrity of the model if I took out more.

Stop staring! You must work on new models for us to paint! :D

(not that it will really affect me now, but I'm glad to hear the eyes are getting a bit larger :)

As part of getting my master of arts in graphic design, I have to put on a graduate thesis exhibition. It's a huge amount of work involving what is in effect a visual essay on design, its applications, and impact. I'm sharing the hall with a friend of mine and we've been working on the show for the last year or more conceptualizing how everything will go. And it goes up in two weeks... which gives us next week to do the last major elements and the week after to hang everything.

Nope, my wife isn't Asian, she's a Pennsylvania Dutch hotty!
