Well, with 6000 points painted up and, more importantly, nothing left to paint, it's time for the whole-army everything-done shots.

First a straight-up view of the army as a whole:

Next, a few angle-shots:

(With a lovely view of one of the garden chairs in the last one.)

Here's a list of everything. I haven't included the spaceship in the photo above, as it didn't make much sense.

Raptor Cult (6 units) (240 points)
(Chaos Lord)

Chosen (6 units) (390 points)
(Chaos Lord)
Chaos Champion (50 points)
Icon Bearer (50 points)
Daemonic Pact (25 points)

Chosen (6 units) (390 points)
(Chaos Lord)
Chaos Champion (50 points)
Icon Bearer (50 points)
Daemonic Pact (25 points)

Retinue (275 points)
(Chaos Warlord)
3 Defilers (225 points)
2 Obliterators (170 points)

Retinue (275 points)
(Chaos Lord)
Chaos Champion (50 points)
Icon Bearer (50 points)
Havocs (150 points)
6 Rhinos (60 points)

Retinue (275 points)
(Chaos Lord)
Chaos Champion (50 points)
Icon Bearer (50 points)
Cult Marines (Thousand Sons) (150 points)
6 Rhinos (60 points)

Forlorn Hope (125 points)
2 Rhinos (20 points)
Daemonic Pact (25 points)

Bike Company (300 points)
(Chaos Lord)
Icon Bearer (50 points)
Daemonic Pact (25 points)

Armoured Company
6 Chaos Land Raiders (450 points)

Assault Company
3 Decimators (675 points)

Ravager Titan (625 points)

Devastation Class Cruiser (150 points)

Hell Talon Fighter-Bombers (300 points)

Daemon Pool (8 Lesser Daemons) (160 points)

Total: 6,015 points

To be honest, the Daemonic pacts are distributed fairly arbitrarily, and aren't necessarily where I'd put them in a game.

I'll probably put these aside for a bit now to concentrate on my AMTL. When I do add some more stuff, I'll be mostly looking to add things to make it work a bit better with the Red Corsairs army list: some extra Thousand Sons including a Lord (for the Cult Marines formation), two more Forlorn Hopes (for a total of twelve units, which would also make two formations of Chosen), some more Daemon Engines, like Desecrators and Silver Towers, a Chaos Thunderhawk, etc. I'd also be keen to add some Hellblades, another retinue and some more Titans. But that will all have to wait.

Thanks to everyone who posted with helpful or encouraging comments. As with my Eldar army earlier in the year, I found posting here to be a very helpful motivator to get stuff done.

Great to see it all together :agree:

The army list mentions defilers, but these don't seem to be in the group shot?

I don't have any 'real' Defilers, but I use the Daemon Knights as counts-as Defilers in this army. I converted them specifically for that purpose, after concluding that converting something that actually looked like a Defiler was beyond what I was capable of. There weren't any Petit Crabes around in those days.

Nice work dude, a rhapsody in blue. Or something!

Either way it's a stunning army, it's nice to see a brightly painted one too, really pops.

Well, shortly after declaring this army done, having painted everything I had, I picked up this Lord of Change on eBay. It seemed a shame to go on with one model left unpainted for the army, so here's a late addition, painted on Monday:

Right, back to the Titans.

Loving the bone-type look on the head as well, that is gorgeous.  :O

Any free time coming up? Mind if I post you my unpainted Dark Angels? Agh, for shame, for shame.

That's fine, as long as I don't have to send them back. :p

Thanks, guys.

Excellent work :coo:

Any change you could send a full resolution version of the Lord of Change to my mail at chris (at) mustangsalling.dk so I can use it in the NetEpic Gold Chaos book? I'm not sure I can get my own Warmaster (the game, not me :p ) version painted up in time and yours looks really nice.

I think I could use the obliterators, terminators and command stand as well if you happen to have pics of those lying around still.

I've made a few additions to this army this week. I'm visiting my old friends from University next week, and will hopefully be able to get in a game or two, so I need to bring the army in line with the latest changes to the list.

With the changes to Defilers they aren't much use as add-ons to a formation, so I need a fourth model so that I can take them as a formation by themselves. So here's a fourth Defiler/Daemon-Knight to accompany the other three.
Image

And here's the formation of all four:
Image

I've also added a couple of Stalker AA tanks. They're just E40k-era Whirlwinds with one half of the missile launcher removed and the other re-angled skywards. The result is slightly odd and lopsided-looking, but in a way that I quite like.
Image

While I was painting some more Chaos stuff, I also added this Thousand Sons Lord (along with transport and an extra stand of rubric marines). He doesn't have any use in the Black Legion army, but if I use the Red Corsairs list he'll be useful for the Cult Marines formation.
Image

I also made a couple of changes to the Lord of Change. I was never entirely happy with his loincloth, and it didn't look quite right being the same blue as his torso, so I re-did it in white. I also tidied up a few imperfections on his head.
Image

Of course, the structural changes to the Black Legion list mean that this army isn't legal any more; with only three retinues I can't take two formations of Terminators and one each of Decimators and Chosen. This isn't a major problem, since I doubt I'll be using the whole army at once very often anyway. Nonetheless, I think another retinue will be the next addition to this army.
