I decided to grab the bull by the horns so to speak and started painting some more Tallarn infantry. Did I mention that I HATE painting Guardsmen?

Cheers! :)

Hi,

What you planning to use for the turf and marking the lines?

My plan at the moment is to put pins into every crosshairs where the lines cross, and then base the pitch and borders with sand. After it's all been painted, I can remove the pins and paint in the lines in white, and add some static grass in patches around the pitch. I want to keep it quite muddy-looking rather than turfed completely.

This whole process is going to take a while, and I'm still thinking about building viewing platforms and things before I start sanding and painting, so my plans may well change.

Cheers,
Freshmetal

Hi!

Sounds good.

Hi,

Speaking of which, today I managed to start the border and the pinning of the board.

BORDER

PINNING

This took sooooooo long however, that it'll probably take until the weekend to finish this stage, and you can see that my PS2 is keeping me distracted! :D

Cheers,
Freshmetal

In my case, no.  Besides, even in 6mm those 'spider' gun fortresses (from the new Appleseed movie) would be the size of a 40k Defiler!

I've been trying to get the army built for our 40k Escalation League, and really don't like the look of the Tau Battlesuits.

I've just been kicking around what 6mm stuff I already own to see what works for Marines and a bit of Tau proxyness.

Great work FM. Can't wait to see it finished

L4: Yes those are Epic guardsmen. 40 stands of them to be exact. ...I also added some more Death Korps infantry to the list while I was at it for  total of 70 stands :O  Once finished I'm not going to paint a single guardsman for he next half year or so...I think... :p

Cheers! :)

Currently kitbashing a battery of "railway guns" together out of some FoW and Epic spares as well as some of the Dragon 1:144 Karl Morser kits.

I plan on using them as a "counts as Squat Mega-cannon" miniature.

Did you know GHQ makes both versions of Karl in 1/285 scale? See here for a  pic.

Great link Mojarn!
Do you know how big these models are? I'm very tempted to get some.

Cheers

Thanks as well Mojarn.

I see that GHQ does "bits" orders... I may have to order myself a few of the cranes off the munitions schleppers for use in conversions...

Grrrrr... The GZG 'landmate style' power suits came in on friday, and they're just too weedy. :cuss:

For those of us who are ignorant, what do you mean by "too weedy"?

Thanks, went to look at them. Nice looking minis.

But while I was there, my eye caught this and I think it just screams for conversions....
