bans, I am all ears when it comes to painting suggestions - you may have to be more specific though. What exactly would you brighten up?

hi! you can drybrush with blood red or drybrush with white first and then with blood red, the result is a better model detail or if you have hand pulse you can add some black and white details instead the drybrush.
cheers bans

Mmmh! Spikey!
I agree with Bans: A few blood red highlights would make an awsone finishing touch. Not much: run the side of the brush along the scab red edges.

Hmm, maybe little white highlights under blood red makes it look better and you don't have to paint so many layers with blood red.
I have also managed to continue my executor, even I can't keep up with moscovians pace. Now some extra wings are added and GS on holes and such. When extra GS is filed it is time to make tail for it.

Charad, I finished those Slavebringers very quickly, but it was due to the fact that I had all of your modeling WIPs and the materials on hand. It helps when you don't have to think about anything. I added a few changes just for fun, but the were quick.
I like the Executor so far... I'm curious what you will do to break up the fuselage (painted designs, more spikes, fins, decapitated bodies ). This is the last piece for you in the Dark Eldar army or do you have more left to do?
Personally I'll be doing the War Engines and aircraft first, then moving onto the Raiders/Ravagers/Talos, then lastly onto the infantry.
Btw, does anyone know of where to find Dark Eldar transfers? If not, is there a place to find Dark Eldar symbols so I can try painting them on my models? Thanks!

Have you liked how slavebringers turned out? I really like yours and that makes me want to build few more. How much they costed you, I never counted, because I made that one from bitz box.
thanks. No, not last at all, there is so much to do and I planned to make some models for each type in DE army.
But next in list is: Executor 6 incubi stands, including archon and 3 raiders and ravager (3 ready+ vehicles) 6 wych stands and 3 raiders (2 ready) 4 stands of mandrakes (1 ready)
And after that some reavers, warp beasts etc.
IIRC no DE decals were ever made. For idea stealing I use Dark elves army book.

Excellent idea on the Dark Elves symbols... SNIP! The cost for the Slavebringers was around $40 for the three. The sprues for the Raiders / Ravagers are sold separately by GW for $12 each and you can get 1 set of Slavebringer parts per sprue. Given that you have a whole bunch of other parts that come with the sprue, it really isn't a bad deal. The cost of the plasticard and polystrene is nominal. Posing the 'landed Slavebringer' wasn't hard and didn't add any big extra cost to the model - just a couple bits for the landing gear and ramp access (I trickled it with blood, but you can't see it well with the scab red paint job ).
I started working on the Razorwings but got distracted by the Kashnarak, then got further distracted by the Necrons again (I have a game with them tomorrow and I need Flayed Ones).
You brought up a good point though. It may be helpful to kee track of the cost of some of these models, even if they are approximations.
