Knocked up a quick Necromunda terrain piece while listening to the commentry on A New Hope (have just discovered DVD extras as perfect modelmaking accompaniments!), got a bit more to do before I undercoat it, but it's nearly there!
I do miss my bits boxes though, had to leave them at home when I moved here to uni- its like being without an arm!

..and from the back....
The corrugated card is still a little 'furry', so I'll be giving it another coat of watered down PV to smooth it back some more, although paintign usually tidies it up nicely.

Looking good Storms - had we met the ganger previously? I think so, but wouldn't mind another pic...

The cast commentaries to the Lord of the Rings films are ones I have recently enjoyed whilst modelling.

I finished my whole gang just before leaving for uni, and I believe I didn't take a decent picture then, so will get one of the whole group when I have some time.

The cast commentaries to the Lord of the Rings films are ones I have recently enjoyed whilst modelling. | Yeah, I've listened to Star Wars commentaries and Lord of the Rings appendicies whilst making models this summer.
My normal accompaniment is anyone of my almost 30 Simpsons videos but at the moment I've been going through the first series of Frasier, and the entire Father Ted run, from beginning to end!
Frasier's great because it's mostly one-liners, so if you're not actually watching it (like when you're painting minis, say! ) it's still hilarious. And as for Father Ted... well, what more can I say about the genius which is this series?
OAV?
Official Anime Video. In other words, an anime approved by the author of the original manga.
The finances have gone better a bit, so I went to the model store and came out wielding a Ravenwing Bike Squad, the new Command Squad and a blister of Space Marine Special Weapons.
Later, I decided it's the end of stockpiling all my purchases on the shelf... all Marine and Chaos Marine stuff has been dug out and sorted. The 3rd edition 40k starter box is nearly filled up with all manner of plastic SM/CSM sprues, and the metal bitz are stored in those transparent plastic containers that came in the Iron Hands and Ravenwing boxes.
So the Horseman said... Conversion time!
First go the legs for Raziel Mk II, done in total of four parts from three pairs of legs: left leg is part of a metal pair from the Iron Hands box, the crotch, upper right leg with the kneepad and the right foot come from a normal set of Marine legs and the right greave is a CSM bit after a little cutting and trimming. All in all, they came together pretty nicely.
One of the Ravenwing torsos had a great sword insignia on the chest. Remind me to get a jeweler's saw one day... for now, I'm GS-casting the symbol, that should about do.
I'm not decided on the posing of Raziel's arms at the moment, altough I'm down to two options - one with the Chaplain aiming his Boltpistol, the other having him swinging his Crozius a bit. I also intend to make his backpack exchangeable, so I could give him a Jump Pack instead, if neccesary.
Furthermore, one of the Special Weapon Marines (beakie head with MK 7 body and legs) just screamed "Blood Angel" to me. I'll paint him aas one - as soon as I convert his Bolter.
Finally, I'm figuring out how to convert the mad Techmarine Malachai. Nearly there.

Malachai is under construction. Main body done, the head is scheduled for a minor alteration, and the left arm will need a little cut and reposing (that will be a tad troublesome - the thing is metal). In the end I decided to go for the Techpriest Enginseer backpack, with the servo-arm a bit repositioned. It was quite problematic to get it stay the way I wanted it to, and I'll have to try re-doing that part today. The backpack fits Marine body well enough, but it's a nightmare to soft-pin (so I can remove the backpack for painting).
