I hated the mono-pose plastic scouts. The bases I bought were already glued so I had to cut them off the base anyway.

Why stop there? Started to chop and glue...

Sooner or later these will become part of an Imperial Fists force that will defend the Imperial Palace from chaos in December (Hungarian Games Day demo table)

Yay! This is what makes plastics so good.

I wish I could change the faces.

Perhaps I will try. Just need some nanobots. And a Sony cyber eye.

:)

Oh holy crap. I just realized those were 6mm reposes and not Barbie-scale 40k. Wow

great job on those poses. I'm with you on the advantage of plastics, makes 6mm conversions much easier.

I love how you can browse through the picture and have thought trains run through your head.

"Hey, there is a scout with two knives. That must mean there is one with two bolt pistols..... Ah! There he is!"

I've wanted to do this very thing, but I was afraid I'd never get the limbs off and reattached cleanly enough to look like they weren't mangled.

Yours look fantastic, I don't see any "melting" from plastic cement, and the glued joints aren't even hidden behind paint! Please, can you describe how you cut them, and what you glued them back together with?

Thanks!

These look awesome. I wish I was motivated enough to try some conversions like these. Maybe once I get a decent force painted, then I'll start doing some conversions.

Thank you guys!!

I did not do anything special. Used the cheapest wallpaper cutting knife with a fresh blade to cut the limbs off and then a tiny drop of plastic glue to fix the limb in the new place.

I used Humbrol plastic glue. Just a tiny drop to avoid full melting.

I have now 6 stands of scouts and will need more to have at least 2 formations. So off to the trading forum.

Only I trick I now remember is :

I made flat surfaces to attach the limb. Either the limb end had to be straightened or the place where the limb joined the body. Or the shoulder plate.
