Yeah between you and MoK, you two have the best "in-the-muck" looking guard I've seen.

As promised my base finishing method. All items pictured below.

Household filler applied with a small knife used to get a really rugged surface, you can use a spare model to gently press the tank tracks in to the still soft filler if you want.

Once the filler is dry i PVA glue baseing grit on for stones and cat litter for rocks, shown in the two trays. Then i finish off the base and blend in the grit/litter with Coat d'arms textured paint, this comes in several shades but i paint over it anyway.

When all this is dry i use Vallejo 873 US field drab all over as a base colour, it's close to graveyard earth.
Then i use V.979 german camo dark green to shade the rocky areas, just blob on some paint in the middle of the area and then use water to spread it around like a wash. Do the same with V.882 middlestone but apply it to any raised areas to act like a highlight.

I used V.880 khaki grey and then V.988 khaki to give two stages of drybrushing over the whole base. Once all these stages are dry i then use the MIG brown wash to shade the whole base, this stuff is really thin and spreads over the base by capillary action and blends all the various colours together.

After this is dry which takes a little while i then use V.203 umber shade (devlan mud proxy) to add darker brown patches and shadows as desired. All that remains is to drybrush the stones with V.821 german camo beige, i also pick out the odd rock here and their with this shade, and then use V.884 stone grey as a final light highlight over the stones/rocks to taste.

Finished my other DK infantry bases this week, now onto the centaurs. Pics of the battlegroup to follow during the week i hope. :)

Cheers

looking good!

I will say however that basing krieg on anything wider than strip bases often causes headaches when they block each other's way for FF and whatnot, but each to their own of course! ;)

Hey kyussinchains my krieg infantry bases are 30mm wide 20mm deep so narrower than standard plastic strip bases.

Finished the centaurs today so all the infantry and their assault transports are finished. :)

I thinks this battlegroup will be getting some armour support next and i will be getting my super heavy tanks bases re-painted also.

Those bases are right up my alley!

Question is though.....

Do they match your tabletop?
