Otterman's next work project

Todd Boyce emailed me and said he was polishing/cleaning everything except for the broken saltshaker carriage. I have asked him to mail everything except the saltshaker, so that I might visit the metal making man this weekend. This implies that the saltshaker will be 1 week behind the rest.

The big list is:
Gorgonzola (lower hull, upper hull, ramp, mortar sponsons, bolter sponsons, rollbars)
Light artillery (spudd, pestle, carriage)
Exodus Wars cohort 1 (MRL, SPA, SPAAG, Cyclops)
Nectaris Bison
Nectaris Slagger
Nectaris Hadrian

The delayed list is:
Saltshaker + Stoner

This thing will need to be bigger. Or, no crabe legs for it.

Hmmmm Desecrator? Its the AA variant of the Defiler.
Ok stats wise it's a Defiler with Havoc Launcher instead of the Twin Heavy Flamer and a Sonic Disruptor instead of Battlecannon.
But an entirely different upper body would be much cooler than only a different main weapon   :)  :agree:

Plus having the old Daemon Engines now just be super-heavy tank variants as those photos have rather than being all new vehicles is just boringtastic.

Well the old Daemon Engines where only variants of shooty and/or stabby vehicles too

But i assure you: With 5 Structure Points the Lord of Battle is still bigger than a Baneblade

I am sure, that having an option of mahcine either with crab legs or with tracks is too cool no to try doing it.

If you're going to go for the popular choice of a non-ordered war vehicle I wouldn't suggest going for any for just one particular power - they have models already for one thing (particularly the Khorne ones which have loads) and would have more limited appeal. Plus having the old Daemon Engines now just be super-heavy tank variants as those photos have rather than being all new vehicles is just boringtastic.

So, you're saying to make it undivided? Sorry, not quite following your angle.

Was just thinking it might appeal to the most people. If you make a specifically Khornate vehicle and you've got someone who themes their army in the direction of Tzeentch or one of the other powers then they may not be interested, whereas doing something undivided that could be used in any flavour of chaos army might have the widest appeal. Up to you though, just make whatever you fancy.

Crabe legs don't feel right for it. Tracks like in the sketch are one option but I think the shape of the hull implies a nurglish machine.

Maybe something more organic looking is needed. Maybe some slug-like thingy like this:

It would be really cool if some Daemon Engines were made available :) after seeing the quality of the Crabbes I'd probably buy a fair few of these.

I really like the idea of interchangeably using the Crabbe legs or some tracks, would be a good way to add variety to the models. I think making the undivided cannon in 3 parts (some tracks, a cunning lower body that can fit either the tracks or crabbe legs and an upper body holding the cannon itself, which I imagine being a big baroque style thing) would be best, it'd be quite easy for people to create the Khrone and Slannesh engines too then, by swapping the top section for something else and using either the legs or the tracks.

Here's a comparison shot with my not-Chimera. I try to get the size and rough shape correct before slathering on detail.

What it the thing just had a single wide tread directly underneath it?

I think that would be quite slug-like.

Nope, not yet. To clarify, its a modular chassis meant for my artillery enclosure. The thingy you see now is the engineering / ammo module. The crane isn't pictured. So, it may have been more accurate to say it's a not-Trojan.

I did a test print and found some of the dimensions to be a little wonky. The revised test print will arrive today. Then the test molding, and if appropriate, submit for bronzing.
