The length looks good now, but I'd rather there were the correct number of bogeys.

Reaver wouldn't like that.

Yours would be better / Reaver probably wound down on his ones a while ago (Ask him?).

Pretty nifty, I'm liking it but I think it would be cool to have the track guards optional :)

They're actually hiding some ugliness involved with the stretching.

Okay, now I'm just confused.

You are going to add an additional bogey (and thus making the model an inaccurate representation of the 40k scale model) in order to replace a model that isn't accurate enough. That really doesn't make much sense.

Can't you just add a bit of length in between the bogeys (via multiples of the same type of operation you did to add the 6th bogey)? It would be easy enough to do - just slice the model halfway between each bogey, separate the slices a bit, then extrude the end face of each slice to fill the gap. As long as the slices fall inside the saddle box panels, in should be straight forward. Don't even worry about what that will do to the treads, sense they are even visible.

But I'm not trying to make something that looks just like a chimera chassis. I'm trying to make something that looks vaguely like a chimera chassis to carry my enclosure around.

Maybe I should just add some slabs to the side, like this old chimera track variant:

This HAD to be done.

Way too short O-man, it doesnt look all that much longer than a bus and can probably still manouver around tight corners.  :;):

Seriously though, i thought the adapted chassis looked like a good fit. :)

Can you make it a low rider too? Maybe put some tassels on it?

Now that I'm at home and have some happy beer, I can provide some more measurements.

The 40K plastic Basilisk has a barrel that is 8mm in diameter. Than translates to 1.7mm using a 6/28 ratio. The existing Arma barrel that I have is already at 1.7mm

But, it's not bronze for metal production. That means I get to revisit the design.

Here's a draft of the new design, based on a scientific technique called "gawking at the Forge World picture already posted".

interesting, but I'm not too fond of the rivets around the middle of the barrel. Seems a odd place for them.
