I confess, this is never a colour scheme I would pick for myself, but the execution and end results are excellent. Inspiring me to lay my hands on some Vindicators, especially...

Yeah, the Mk.1 Vindicator is a nice model but somehow over the years a huge 'dozer blade has become one of the Vindicator's defining features, so I felt the addition was necessary.

There are times, when I apply a third coat of white and it goes straight from blotchy and translucent to far too thick, that I wish I hadn't picked it, either. :D

Thanks, all. Land Raiders are now done, but since it now gets dark before I finish work, I probably won't have a photo until the weekend.

How excellent they turn out is just one of many credits to your patience. Looking forward to the Land Raiders - it's always good when people with patience and talent can open up new possibilities for colours, combinations and models.

Yeah I've taken to airbrushing white all over, seal and dry, and then simply painting over where it isn't white when base coating for exactly that reason. I feel your pain.

Hmm. That sounds like a huge bother, but possibly not any worse than what I'm doing already. Maybe I'll give it a try.

Thank you! Really glad you like them.

Well it's not quite the weekend, but observing POETS day meant that I was just able to get a shot in while it was still light.

I've made a start on some Scout snipers but haven't got much painting done this week as (a) I've been quite busy, and (b) I've been working on converting some character models. It may be a while before I get around to painting some of them, so here's a preview:

I'm glad I've managed to get some conversions into this army; I always like to have at least a few figures that are completely unique. I know that a lot of the vehicles are technically conversions but I'm not certain whether just filing off the bolters and gluing some pre-made 3D prints onto the top really counts as 'proper' converting.

Not to derail, but if you think about it, it's basically primer white (done so often anyways to make you colors pop) so not as big a bother if you have the right scheme. Yours being darker with smaller areas of white is not quite the time saver though. Might be a trick for another army however.

Goodness those land laiders look soooo good. I really live this thread

Yeah, one to keep in my back pocket, as it were.

Thank you. I'm not sure if that was a typo for 'like this thread' 'love this thread' or 'live for this thread' (possibly a bit excessive), but thanks either way!

So, progress at last. Despite various distractions, I have finally managed to get my Scout snipers painted up.

Terminators coming up next; hopefully they won't take quite such a long time.

Cheers, guys.

Hot on the heels of those come this Terminator detachment, complete with the first of those character conversions. I am eventually hoping to have the entire First Company painted up, which should include a Captain, Chaplain, Standard Bearer and Apothecary, but although I have models for the first two, the others needed converting. The Standard Bearer will accompany the Captain, while the Chaplain here is accompanied by an Apothecary.

This brings me up to 5,000 points, not including the company's worth of GW plastics or any Titans. Two more formations (Predators and Bikes) before I start on another Battle Company, after which I'll be about half way to my eventual goal.

Seems to be back up now, although it's still slow to respond.

Not sure what's wrong; if it keeps playing up I'll have to contact my hosting provider.
