your bases - can we have a small tutorial?
I actually started a tutorial this for the world eater supplement thingy a few years ago and then it never really went anyway, no idea where the files are though (ssh don't remind Frogbear, im pretty sure he doesn't read this thread so we should be safe

). If i can't find them ill try and remember next time I do a base. Lava bases are simple and bizarrely look far better in photos than in real life:
Apply textured stuff as needed, sand painted black, Vallejo lava paste, milliput, whatever, paint black and dry-brush lightly with white/grey/whatever.
Paint lava white
Paint lava light yellow (bad moon)
Slightly watered down feathering around the edges with light orange (fiery orange)
Optional -- as above but with blazing orange, overlap the feather and do not go out as far. I used to do this but found i could get the same effect by bringing the red out further in an increasingly translucent feather As above with blood red, with almost pure red in a thin line right on the edges and then feathering out
As a final highlight in the middle of the yellow with white

btw. you exposed chaos minis to direct sunlight? :-)
Ye, but they have RA3+ and TRA, plus teleport means they can leave the field again quickly, so the effect of them taking double damage in direct sun is mitigated somewhat.
