I could give this a go. Would need measurements though. Dont want it looking all Mr Mackey or Goomba.

The available area is a circle 3.5 mm in diameter.

That is for the base right? How tall?

However tall looks nice. It can't have significant undercuts due to mold making considerations.

Ok. How tall will the body be? I dont want the head to look too out of place. Will whip up a couple test pieces. I will keep to the "no skulls" motif.

I'll try to post a picture later showing side views.

Thanks for noting the "no skulls" request, but as clarification it's "no human skulls". Skulls of obvious non-humans are acceptable. Robot skulls are especially cool, but those are the province of the Necrons.

Scream has pointed out a potential rival, although I'm not sure if that's the appropriate term:

Here's a sideview of the upper body where the head likes to be. I cutaway the weapon hardpoint on the closest side. Each hash mark is a millimeter.

This evening I transmitted the files to Todd Boyce.

Feedback from the very-busy Todd Boyce, paraphrased:

There aren't enough flat spaces to mount hardpoints for the investment cast. I will have to sacrifice some gubbins.

I'm proposing going back to pegs for the weapons and living with the hole undercuts on the cannon part; that will at least get us the weapons back.

So I have gone through a few different sculpts and have ditched each one as too big, too dumb, too sloppy, and not worthy.  :sigh:

Is very difficult to sculpt to scale when you dont have the part you want to scale to. Otter's CAD is so clean and smooth that any additional parts must be perfect and not over detailed as it would clash with the rest of it.

Dont think I am capable of sculpting to a casting quality yet. Take for example the head below. It is not complete, but even at this stage it isnt all that good. I also think it is a bit too big as compared to the 40k scale model. I will finish it up, as well as a few more WIP's, but that is just so I can get practice.

Thanks, Silentbob. I don't think the plastic will survive vulcanization though, so I have to ponder that.

This concept leads me to another scheme that needs trying:
1) Make a 'normal' RTC silicon mold out of something delicate.
2) Jam greenstuff into both cavities, with a little extra.
3) Smash the two halves together.
4) Let cure
5) Touch up the seam with additional greenstuff.
6) Submit for mass production vulcanization.

Nice theory, needs trial.

On the Todd Boyce front, we're still haggling where to put bronzing hardpoints on the lower body and legs.

P.S. - I like the head. So much, in fact, that I'm considering making it a separate piece.

Hmm separate piece...then how about a head-sprue? Perhabs with 3-4 different heads to choose from?

Different heads for the various gods makes sense.

Perhaps a different arm/weapons for each god instead.  Sonic for Slaanesh, axe for Khorne, etc...

but they count as 'Undivided' under current rules.

Makes that silly faction thing even harder to keep track off if they look like they're cult when they're not.
