Thanks, everyone.

I first came up with this colour scheme around 1999, when I decided to re-do my (mostly still unpainted) 40k Ultramarines army as a new chapter. The blue-black colour was sort of an accident; I was experimenting with ways to highlight black, tried drybrushing it blue and while it didn't look black any more, I decided I liked the effect and used it for my new Marine chapter.

The 40k army doesn't look that great when I look at it now (well, I was only 17), but I still like the colour scheme, so I decided to recreate it in 6mm.

More progress! Four Hunters:

Coming up next will probably be Scouts. After that, I have some Terminators, some Land Speeders, a Strike Cruiser and another Thunderhawk to do before I have a playable 3,000-point army.

Blue black color? Don't you mean white and gold? ;)

Nooooooooo! :D

Next up, a Scout detachment. Being scouts, they make some use of camouflage, although the armoured sections of their armour are still in the Chapter colours. I also decided to use circular bases rather than strips, as it seemed to fit better with their role.

Next up, Land Speeders, then probably a second Thunderhawk.

Yes, that's right. I really like the Shapeways Rhino conversion parts and have used them quite a bit in putting this army together.

And here, as promised, are the Land Speeders:

As I type this, the second Thunderhawk is about half done. However, I don't think I'm going to have time to finish it until next week, as I'm going away for a few days.

Thank you!

Here, as promised, is Thunderhawk number two:

I have to confess that this model is a dodgy Chinese recast. There's a horrible mould line on the other side that I wasn't able to completely remove. It isn't all that visible, and I think I've managed to mostly hide it with the paint job, but it definitely looks better from this side.

Next up will be a Strike Cruiser and a Terminator detachment. Not necessarily in that order; they're both half-done at the moment and I don't know for certain which I'll finish first.
