Go with the feet from the Warlord drawing in the Apocolypse book. :agree:

Generally agree with the comments so far.

Looking good. I'd like to see the arm weapons either a bit longer or the mount extended forward just a bit. The hip joints look a bit flimsy at the moment. Not sure if you got something more planned there?

Thanks for the ideas guys.
Have to say I'm not a fan of the feet in the apoc' book.

The Elephant toes are a good call, will definately look into that as a probable construction idea.

Toe maneuverabilty is an interesting one in the design of an epic titan, will see what I can do with that.

The Splitting of the top Carapace is an interesting idea, but differs a lot from other Mars designs, I'm thinking of putting vents etc at the rear of the carapace a bit like the warhound, but have yet to decide completely on whether that's going to change.

More massive shoulder pads is a possibility - the shoulder pads are concept shapes at the moment as the weapons mounts inside will be matched to the warhound weapons as produced by E&C and therefore the armour plates are liable to change.

Cheers for the ideas, keep 'em coming.

Even the Mk 1 had somewhat of a split in the carapace. Not as pronounced (more of a gap between the shoulders, really, but that basically all the gap was with the mk 2, as well.

I hope I don't anger people by using their photos I stole off the web.

I cannot deny that all the Warlords so far have indeed had split top carapaces. I'll play with the look a little but am loath to redesign it entirely. Keep trying to persuade me, lets see how good your argument is.

:)

NOTE: The picture of the back of the hips edited into the previous post is my response to Warmaster Nice - I've made the hips as big, bulky and powerful as I could, and I think they look pretty tough. They're bigger than the Lucius warlords hips if it was scaled to the same height.
I'll post a pic of the Malc tank next to them next.

Cheers for the reply Jonluke

What I meant was if the upper pistons are really all that connects the wait to the hip joints? Or are you going to attach something to the ball thingys to make it look somewhat stronger?

Malcafloor courtesy of the great E&C:

To Warmaster Nice: There is going to be no joint between the "axel" pieces of the hip joints, they're a solid mass with the groin - if there is any movement there it would be lateral only, the intention was that they were what took the weight, the hydraulics are simply for shock absorbing and leg maneuvering.
I'll get the groin area sorted a bit and post a pic of what I mean. Any possibility you could do a quick sketch of your ideas, that'd really help me understand what you're getting at better?
Cheers

- cheers for the piccy, got that while I was writing this post. In reply, yeh, the ball thingys wil all have attachments into a groin piece, as will the two big "axels".

Ah cool. That makes more sense then :) Lovely comparison shot. That titan is going to be one big mutha :D

Looking forward to seeing it with some longer barreled shoulder weapons like Turbo Lasers as these will undoubtedly look more imposing than the relatively stubby Megabolters

Here's a pic of a quick mockup of the groin area.

Yeh, waiting on E&C for some turbo lasers, should look impressive then.
Glad you like it, gonna go and make the groin properly now. :D

Coming on well  :agree: Few comments:

There will be some kind of connecty worky bit in the middle that those piston spheres link onto yeah? I'm liking the titan overall but they look silly and weird at the moment with the gap and the spheres sticking out like that, but I'm guessing it's just 'cos you've not done the bit inbetween them yet

Maybe make the thickness of the circular arm weapon barrels a tiny bit thicker? They look a bit unrealistically thin and fragile for the imperials now.

I think your proportions are off - the upper leg section is too big and bulky compared to how small and not much bigger as a whole the lower leg piece is. If you look at any other Warlord or Reaver Titan the lower leg is a decent bit bigger than the upper, but that's not really true here. Could you select the whole of the upper leg area and scale it down some?

The Carapace design looks ok, but I think could be better somehow. I'm not entirely sure what to suggest off-hand, but I'm not convinced it looks quite right or Warlord like.

Is the solit block at the bottom supposed to be a replacement for the feet? Or is the upper siede of this block the "ground" on which the feet stand? I wpould prefer the former eöse thelegs wouldlook rather short.

And i think your Warlord would look evenmore kick ass with the old knights helmed style head  :D

So the idea for the shoulders is to design them to fit scout-class rather than Battle-class weapons?, would it perhaps be possible to swing something like having the housing removable so that you can fit larger battle-class weapons in?

I took the liberty of playing around with your pic in Photoshop to get and idea of how the carapace would look if the shoulders were beefed up a bit. Obviously not entirely without problems as the shoulderweapons begin to look very small on such a big body. Anyway, I just thought I'd pitch in as Photoshop is somewhat less labourintensive to give some idea of the shape rather than true 3d work :)
