Perhaps asymmetry is an unexplored idiom. After all, things that violate symmetry seem unwholesome.

Unhappy skulls. Some people like them, some people are tired of them. Imperium makes significant use of... happy skulls? Presumably the Emperor's happy skull.

I didn't actually mind these designs. Would go quite well with the FW Chaos aircraft I think. And a change from spikey bits and skullls.

Yes they look like the hell craft. Asymetrical would be a damn sight better than skulls and spukes - i remove all such things from my epic and bfg models.

Well, I can't say I'm a miniature designer but IMO those don't look archaic enough. The old engines maybe have too much skulls but they still have that "something". When I look at these new sketches they don't bring "chaos" to my mind. In fact, the big gun could well be Bauhaus Great Infurior or some other sci-fi artillery piece.

Defiler, OTOH, is what a "modern" daemon engine should look like.

These look more like my sons' Hot Wheels than a Daemon Engine.  Last one is ok ish....I can see daemon and I can see engine.  Most of the others...m'eh.  It's all academic anyway isn't it...sota like L4 said...we aint gonna see 'em in 6mm and therefore I aint interested.

Chaos vehicles should look barock with spikes and skulls and somewhat bulky. Twisted and warped armour perhabs with daemonic faces coming from it would be typical too. Tetacles only by Nurgle vehicles :) Rounded armourplates only by Slaanesh. Holes with flames coming fromit for Tzeentch and Khorne ones with mechanical looking brutish closecombat arms/weapons.

I have to say I've not seen these before so thanks Otterman.

I like the Dred but then we're SUPPOSED to have those already  :( , the rest look more Necron like.

Hmmmm, so what should they look like? a personification of a hunger for power I suppose, or one to bring 'welcome' deathly release. How the hell do you draw that? I think I need a drawing board  :D

ick

chaos these days is a p-whipped version of its old self.  All the randomness, and well "chaos" is gone - these concepts reflect this new attitude to a "T".  You want real chaos?  Look to the old rule books - ideally the realms of chaos books.  THAT was chaos.

Some of the concepts are cool (well the nurgle stuff), Im not too fond of the Giger concept clones/command and conquer NOD tank clones. I was hoping for more walker like creatures such as the Defiler or more like the old Khorne daemonengines. Well...they are concepts and I think the modellers on this forum could do a better job!

I agree.

Chaos needs to be Chaos. Twisted & Warped.

*Looks around nervously*

I guess that I am in the minority then, because I really like these. I think that we are all predjudiced by how Chaos has looked in the past, which I personally dont like. Yes, these things look a little like they are out of Tron, but that is OK for me.

I like the sleek lines. I dont want Chaos that looks like it is basically Imperial stuff with skulls and spikes. I want Chaos to be a little understated, a little more... I dont know... insidious.

These things look like they would hunt you down, like they have no visible power source. I would like to see a little more 'personality' from the four major powers in them, but I would certainly use most of these as Slaanesh Daemon Engines.

I dont like the previous Chaos stuff. The Cannon of Khorne and the truely terrible Khorne Lord of Battles. The Brass Scorpion was pretty much the only one that I liked.  :glare:

I already disliked them when I saw them a couple of months ago. They don't look like 40k IMO. They remind me of Mutant Chronicles, Dark Legion faction.
