Brushes are like assholes. Everyone has a unique one and they all stink to everyone else. However for general use I'm partial to tamyia hf 1506. The intersection of good price and quality tip. Ymmv

just about to grab some of the Rosemary and Co brushes, can anyone comment which of the 401 series is closest in size to a GW standard brush?

That's a hard call as the tips are longer then most makes but a 1 or 2 (I use a 2 for more things) should do you well.

ok thanks :)

I went with a 3/0, 2/0, a pair of 1s and a 2

also grabbed a 768 series size 2 for drybrushing and a couple of the pure kolinsky sable series 33 to try out and see if they're noticably better/worse than the 401 series (I'm hoping they're a touch softer and better for washing)

For dry brushing your will want the R&C Series 768 Size 2 for your Epic and size 4/6 for 28mm

I received my order of these. They'll be fine for larger areas, but I'll need something smaller, preferably with a round tip for most of my drybrushing. Then again, I might just cut one into shape with a pair of scissors. Sounds daft, but my current best drybrush was mutilated in that fashion.

Sadly I have no idea I'm afraid. I used up my limited personnal knowledge heh

I have used rosemary they are good but windsor & Newton are a lot better. Series 7 has short tip so it wont bend when painting sharp details and small miniatures in general. I last time ordered this set

Series 7 Miniature Sable Size 000
Series 7 Miniature Sable Size 00
Series 7 Miniature Sable Size 0
Series 7 Miniature Sable Size 1

I'm really enjoying the R&C 401 series, they work really nicely, the size 1series 33 kolinsky brush I bought doesnt keep a good tip however.... not impressed with that, especially as it was close to £4

I'm keen to try W&N but not in a rush now

Another Army Painter brush user. Acceptable blend of quality and low price IMO.
