I like them. Quality is quite good I think. I was pondering painting mine grey too, instead of the ludicrous GW colours, but nostalgia got the better of me.

Very nice! All that in just an hour and a half?! Awesomely accomplished :D

Agree with Rasta. Look really tidy and the basing sets them off nicely :)

Wish i could paint that many miniatures in an hour.

Looks good to me and the static grass helps with the over all finish.

Cheers guys, appreciate the positive comments!

Yeah, it only took an hour and a half, although they were already sprayed black. The only way I'll get a decent size army done is to speed paint a basic paint job, otherwise if I took my time it would take ages and I would loose interest and move on to something else :)

So the idea is to fit this army into hour / hour and a half blocks as and when life permits a break. Once its done I can go back and tidy up pieces......well, thats the plan anyway! :)

Good way of doing things really, me i find it impossible to let myself do less than i know i can which is why i never get an army finished i suppose. I started out with my WE's project attempting to do them faster than my normal effort but i just ended up painting as i normally would in the end. I just don't seem to be able to do a quick paint job which is what i really need to do considering the metal mountain i have lying around.

Just let go and give it a chance. There is no such thing as either or. You can do both :-). Look at it this way, what is worse? Minis that could have been more detailed or super detail on some and bare metal on many?

I missed this too! Cool that you got back to painting, and the results are good! Keep up the good work ( but remember that making nice buildings for us comes first)

I suppose the outstanding quality of many here encourages pushing the envelope. And, on the positive, I do like staring at prettily painted minis :)

I'm trying to make the adjustment too. I'm back in the hobby but the only way I'm going to finish is if I don't try to paint little Blood Angels insignias on every little figure.

In theory, I can always go back to do that...

Right, after collecting loads of minis (still a lot of collecting to do!) I've decided to tackle painting large(ish) armies that can be used for E40K, E:A and NetEpic.

So putting what I had already painted either to one side or in a bath of Dettol, I'm starting again.

The plan is to take the piles of metal and plastic for each army and get large chunks done on a weekend (mainly when my 2year old is sleeping!)

So first target to be complete by tomorrow night 40 stands of IG infantry, painted and based....photos to follow tomorrow night!

See you then;

No mean feat getting 200 infantry painted & bases over a weekend! Good luck!

PS keep your eye on your emails later on this afternoon!
